Is it worth it to calculate a star system so I can make an accurate calendar?
Whether or not something is “worth it” is really up to you. I can’t really see how that’s needed, unless it will somehow heavily benefit your story. There’s this very handy calendar generator that you can use to create awesome calendars based on many variables that you can customize. It’s good to know how your sun and moon(s) interact with your planet, as that has a tangible effect on the world (and on the culture), but beyond that, it’s up to you. Unless your world uses a stellar calendar, most of the stars in the system don’t affect the functionality of a calendar.
