The cave was the only home the hatchling knew ever since he had hatched- as well as the large skeleton that was once one of his parents. They were a yellow color, signifying just how old these bones were. The hatchling himself, however, had hatched just a mere few days ago. He hadn’t attempted to go further than the entrance as he was too frightened to. He had heard the distant calls of other creatures, large and small, and he didn’t want to take any chances. Besides, in his mind, his parent that had always been there and was there for his hatching would protect him, even if they weren’t capable of moving.
He didn’t understand yet that his parent was not capable of anything and was not alive at this moment.
