240. Working at a theater together during the midnight premiere of a blockbuster.
▋ Taking random jobs has never really been seen as something good or beneficial in the society, but sometimes, when you have to cover up a series of assassinations, those can be of good use. Tonight, Thomas has taken the job as a helper during the big premiere of the movie The Hunger Games: Mockingjay that would start at midnight. Apparently, he wasn’t the only one, though he couldn’t he more thankful that someone would be there to help him—getting everything in perfect place, especially the red carpet and the whole insides of the theater wasn’t an easy task. Later on, he learned that the other male’s name was Jongin, and that he worked as Alladin at Seoul’s Disneyland, a quite interesting job which probably gave the other more experience in big events like this than he had.
”Ah, Jongin, they told us to prepare the table with glassed filled with champagne for the famous people that are coming. Would you mind helping me carry the table and placing the glasses on it?” His tone was quite low, but loud enough so it could reach the other’s ears amidst the whole confusion of getting the theater done before the grand opening to the movie.
”Sure, Thomas. Near the entrance, right? Let’s go.” The tan male had his fingers curling by the edge of the table as the taller did the same at the other end, carefully taking steps backwards while checking if no one was behind him all the way to a spot near the entrance, carefully placing it down along with the other male with a smile crossing his lips due the satisfaction brought by the work. It was nice, really, being able to help in such a big event in order to make other people have a simple yet good time he never had—though the help played a big part in that as well. Working along with someone wasn’t something he was exactly used to.
Once he pointed at the glasses rested on a smaller and moving little car, he and Jongin worked fast in placing each one over the table in a organized and tidy way, not taking long until all of them were placed in the right spot. “Okay … now the champagne …” With curious eyes scanning the surrounding, he was able to localize the two bottles sitting on a counter at the end of the hallways, rushing towards it and with the same determination he got back to stand by the table, handing a bottle to the other who thanked it with a smile while carefully popping it open, which he mirrored, though his didn’t go exactly as planned—instead, it ended up hitting his forehead, almost making him drop his own bottle.
”Oh God—are you okay?” The other’s voice was closer to him now, probably because they were mere inches away from each other as the shorter checked his forehead, laving Thomas frozen and with a tint of crimson taking over his cheeks. He really was not used to any sort of proximity. Perhaps it was the fact that he was too obvious, but the other male pulled back, apologizing and informing him they should finish filling the glasses before looking for some ice to put on his forehead. With a small nod, the photographer agreed, following with shaky hands to fill each and every glass he was responsible for and thankfully, not dropping any of the liquid on the decorated table.
It didn’t take longer than five minutes to be done with all the glasses and spread the flower’s petals over the table, and when he got a hold of himself again, he was being pulled by Jongin towards what seemed to be the kitchen, his wrist caught in a gentle grip which had the tint on his cheeks returning. Dammit, why was he so shy to even the slightest contact? On the other hand, his forehead was aching, having his free hand rubbing the spot he was dumb enough to get himself hit. Some ice would be nice, yeah.
