Thanks. So far our power is stable, and we've got a regular fireplace and a wood-stove if we need it. My biggest concern right now is that this neighbourhood is surrounded by train tracks, and there are literally only two exits, and they're both underpasses. When the weather gets really bad, they sometimes close them for safety reasons. The red star is my house, and the two yellow hexagons are literally the only "escape routes" from that huge loop of railroads. I'm not even sure I'll be able to get to work tomorrow.

Thank you, that is actually really comforting to hear :) I sort of live in this constant weird space in a triangle between "I don't want to be defined by this" and "I don't want to annoy everyone with this" and "But people care about me and it's part of my life so I can't just ignore it all" and I'm always worried I'm too far to one corner or another ><

No. It is for the simple reason that Humans do not have katras to hold onto. While katras are comparable to the Human soul, they are actually inherently different. The katra is something that can be transferred like a computer transmitting data, but the Human soul is not something that science has been able to accurately define like the katra.

As disturbing as the allegations of sexual harrassment are, I do think they are legitimately union and not a sweatshop.

I think so too, it's just the allegations of sexual assault that don't sit right with me. I'd like to be able to promote them 100% because fair labour is great! But the hypersexualized nature of their ads paired with the allegations of sexual assault always make me feel uncomfortable buying and wearing their shirts, which is frustrating because 1. redbubble prints solely on american apparel, and redbubble is a decent percentage of my income at this point

2. Their clothes are really good quality, and looking at the wholesale prices, really affordable. (they're very marked up in store, and I definitely wouldn't ever buy something from any of their retail store because they're so overpriced there)

Using american apparel is always a tug-of-war between my personal morals and my personal goals and dreams. Usually my goals win out, so I try to do my best to fight against things like sexual assault through projects and activism.

Yes and no. Being Spock's mother biologically allowed breastfeeding to be safe for the both of them, however as a Human, she was incapable of providing the full nutritional or immunological benefits that Spock required. He needed supplements until he was able to eat solid foods on his own.

Yeah, there's no replacing natural breastfeeding. Infant formulas are able to mimic a few of the nutritional components of breast milk, but formula cannot hope to duplicate the vast and constantly changing array of essential nutrients in natural breast milk.

OOC DISCLAIMER: This was written completely by headcanon based on the benefits of breast milk in Humans and Spock's nature as a genetic hybrid.

There are many. Even though there are many differences between the many species’ physiologies, there are many chemical similarities that allow for trans-species infections. There are also several bacterial, fungal and viral conditions that can mutate quickly in order to adapt to the different hosts.

There was one epidemic on the Nisus that mutated rapidly. In fact, it actually mutated within biological hybrids and which then spread through the population in different highly virulent strains that made a cure very difficult to pinpoint a possible cure.

If you were asked to save another hybrid embryo, would you and could you? With increased contact between our species we are seeing a few more hybrid weddings. What future do you see for hybrids?

I would do it in a heartbeat. 

Yes, I too would not refuse if future help is asked of me. While there will always be those who would criticize such ventures, I defer to the Vulcan tenet of Kol-Ut-Shan, or 'Infinite Diversity in Infinite Combinations’.

We have a positive outlook on such things. There are still some difficulties ahead such as the idea of hybrids being able to produce offspring themselves, a feat currently out of our grasp. But we don’t see any reason that hybrids wouldn’t have a place in the galaxy just like any of the many diverse species there already are, a number that is ever-growing.
