“Avoiding one crisis for another Heart of the Card bulls**t” is what I imagined (at 8:40-something pm) Tasuku saying...I tried typing it out, but I can’t in one sentence.
So, in the Different Dimension Time Travel AU where this Tasuku (post-Buddyfight X) goes to canon!CFV (OG Anime) at around ep 1 and lives out the original 4 seasons.
This is sometime in Season 1 and Kai is around. Since Tasuku has a hard-time finding the right Kagero units for his deck (Grade 4s don’t exist yet, so I have time recorrect his deck to only cards that exists at this time o_O), he tries his hand at the Royal Paladins of the time. No Psyqualia (or Winning Image at all) with what he had, but with this deck he challenges Aichi. Psyqualia immediately kicks in and gives him a final outcome (you know, like in-canon Psyqualia) of, say, the main Grade 3 dealing the final critical. In this time, the glowy-eyes is very-much visible and he gets a headache every time it’s used for a Final Turn outcome. This is noted of by everyone else.
Near the end, that Grade 3 is taken out of play just before Tasuku could grab it, so he now has to find a different strategy. He steels himself, but he still finds a wa to win in the end.
He is questioned of if that was what Psyqualia has shown him, and he says no. What happened was, basically, what I wrote as the first sentence of this post.
“Nope. Psyqualia had shown me a different strategy, but you managed to avert it in time. I had to find a different strategy. It happens sometimes, don’t worry.” And everyone looked like they had been physically struck; Psyqualia is supposed to be that Evil one-shot KO move, but they just discovered that it doesn’t work sometimes--in this case, Psyqualia was used, but it was averted yet the Psyqualia user still won. It’s unheard of!
Can we just give it nuance like this? Like, not “nerf” it, whatever that means (though I did ask and received the definition, but that’s not the point), but give it something like “Yes, it’s broken and OP, but it can backfire, you know. I have other skills in my arsenal, you know!” type things. K?
In my dream, it was a Kagero deck makeshift mish-mash of Kagero units from different shops that vaguely resemble his strategy--plus some necessary kinks--but we need something different as an example.
It works because he’s also Aichi’s kid. Whether it’s red dragons or blue, shiny knights, he can One Punch with the best of ‘em his age. The Royal Paladins come as naturally as the Kagero Clans to Tasuku, and he can adapt as needed (plus Psyqualia (extra connection to the Units, to Cray, etc.) has the “the cards are talking to me” deal to literally lead him on to find them. Like, the units call him from their packs and he orders those specific packs!)
Really, nice artistry to work with, right???
Ok, for this Vanguard x Buddyfight gay tumblr series I talked about and posted for, Tasuku Sendou has two other siblings:
Renzou Sendou/Suzugamori, son of Aichi and Ren, redhead-blue eyes, age 11 at the start of Buddyfight canon. Shadow Paladin or Murakumo. Runs around Asteroid HQ all day, so he has quite the bit of muscle strength and stamina (to carry his little sis). Meme-er, mischievous.
Kasuka (decided that today, with the help of Pinterest and a daydream of Psyqualia transports all three to the start of the Vanguard reboot) Sendou, daughter of Kaichi, brown hair-blue eyes, age 6 at the start of Buddyfight canon. Kagero or Nova Grappler (extremely rare, for emotional reasons). Mostly mute (defense mechanism), uses JSL and ASL. Empath. Helps others hide from their emotions. All the CFV-anything cast learn JSL to understand her. Loves piggy-back rides. Best Secret-Keeper.
In this AU, the Sendou family, minus the Katsuragis and Shizuka, video call Toshiki almost every night or day while he’s away being an international Pro Cardfighter.
Uhhhhh, Pinterest failed me again. I can’t find any Kaichi kids other than chibi-Aichis and Tasuku, so...take a guess???
And all five have Psyqualia (yes, I’m giving Toshiki Psyqualia), overpowered via Author Powers, and Deadpool respects Kasuka for being about the break the 4th wall with Psyqualia and Narnia her way to almost anywhere.
Also, can someone make a (preferably colored) fan art of Toshiki and Ren looking at each other Aichi’s shoulders on opposite sides on him, using that lightning-wrath-stare on each other? They’re fighting over Aichi in it and Aichi’s just smiling at the camera.
Finally, I apologize to the reboot fans (which is just about everyone other than me), but I highly dislike the reboot so far. Too many reasons for that, but I have to admit that there are some good parts. That’s a relief. And I’m coming around to its opening. The ending is pretty Kaichi-gay, so I give a pass for cuteness and its lovely Melody of sunshine, hope, rainbows, bells, etc.
A Veteran’s Day Special Which Is Really Just An Early/Late Grandparent’s Day Special
Two boys were standing in the rain in front of two gravestones. One a bluenet, the other a brunet. The brunet, Toshiki Kai, had a solemn, understanding look on his face.
“Aichi...” he mumbled.
“Kai-kun....” Aichi was warmly wrapped around his boyfriend’s free arm, the one not holding the umbrella. “My grandfathers were such nice people. I have vague memories of playing with them. Without them, I don’t think I could’ve had much emotional support from the bullying. Kaa-san and Emi-chan weren’t doing much.”
“...I’m sorry, Aichi.”
“It’s not your fault that you had to go, Kai-kun.”
“...Three grandfathers, Aichi?”
Aichi nodded. “I never met my father nor his family. But,” Aichi’s doll-like eyes softened, a glint of flashback joy dancing in them. “my mother’s, well, she was an only child. Grandpere was in great pain freeing her from the womb.” The other grandpa held only the male’s reproductive system. A normal man.“Her papas loved her very much. She got all she wanted, but grandpapas grounded her in morality. They took tradition very seriously. She had me when she was 16. Minimum age in the family for pre-marital sex!”
Kai sighed. “Aichi...” he groaned.
“Kai-kun, don’t tease me! Grandpa and Grandpere would’ve loved you just as much! They welcomed you into the family upon first hearing!”
Kai felt his cheeks color at the praise. Warmth bubbled up inside his cold heart, gave him a stomachache. “That early?”
“Mmhmm! Such hope. You cemented me to be the best option for matriarch, you know! Emi always forgets that.”
“Tch. We’re at a cemetery.” He shook his head in scoff. “What am I doing, being so happy?”
“You have me, Kai-kun! I’m here for you. You can come over to us at any time, you know!”
“Your grandparents sound like a treat.”
“Yeah. They would’ve loved Toshiki-kun,” They both colored at the use of his given name. It is not often used, much to the blunet’s chagrin. “and insisted on making innuendos!”
“Aichi!”
The young matriarch giggled. Toshiki-kun is such a joy to talk to.
Indeed, the two have shared trauma. But today is Veteran’s Day in America. It was to be expected. This was the day he picked to introduce Kai to the kindest intersex-gay couple you’d ever meet.
Imagine if Aichi screaming “Kai-kun!” like he does in the anime is his/their kink?
Even at every thrust, every shock, every twitch, every orgasm, Aichi is yelling “Kai-kun!” (before their marriage) or “Toshiki(-senpai)!”

Like the literal Power Couple singing 🎤 Dream Shooter, Vanguard OP1, and Believe in my Existence! Everyone would wanna sing along, they work so well together! It’d be every Vanguard Otaku’s ringtone. Since the CFV main cast (Link Joker season) cameo in one of its episodes, the two shows could take place in the same universe! I headcanon that if Kaichi did this, it’d be the Student Council President’s (Gao’s group. That one) ringtone. In fact, I’m actually gonna add that! He heard about this special cardgame that is all over the place, seeing some kids playing it (aka Not-Buddyfight). He hears talk of its top players being Kai and Aichi. He finds that viral vid of Kaichi singing the above songs, then adds it to his ringtones. Believe in my Existence as his ringtone, Dream Shooter as his voicemail. And he takes no embarrassment from it! He checks out the strength of them, then becomes another fan of Kai and Aichi. The only Vanguard-related stuff he listens to is anything with either of them featured. ANYTHING, doesn’t matter. If they come in at the end, he’ll f**king skip to the end! And from watching them, he learns at least the basic rules of Vanguard and how the clans work, especially from Kai’s international Pro CardFighting. Overall, he’s a terrible singer of the makeitstopmyearsarebleeding variety, but he sings to these three takes, and he becomes...not-overly-bad at singing. And that’s like singing Let It Go for a jillion hours a week. Especially the little ones.
Just...*sigh* We need more Vanguard cosplays, group chats, and gachas. OG CFV memes, vines, parodies, included, yes. Kamui x Emi allowed, of course. Imagine the look on Kamui’s face once he realizes that “that jerk!” is (going to be) his brother-in-law! Priceless!

The two apronned ladies make dinner and breakfast, Aichi delivering delicious blueberry waffles with strawberries atop. Shizuka would wake him up at 5 in the morning, since this talk, no buts about it, to teach him the ways of the kitchen. Respectably speaking, Emi was booted out of cooking for not being next-in-line.
The next time Aichi saw Kai, he would be presenting an untouched (the slapping of imouto completely called for) box of mini-cupcakes. Half of the cupcakes had blue frosting, the other red. Miwa mercilessly teased Kai and his questionable sexuality for this.
