does anyone else think that kai gets into an argument with his son over something stupid like bedtime idk and the kids are young and don’t really understand the weight of their words yet and his son yells “i wish you would die!” and kai just freezes and remembers how he felt when he first heard that his dad was diagnosed with the plague and almost breaks down and cinder is like he didn’t mean it he probably heard it online or something but kai is spiraling wondering where he went wrong because he never wishes death on his parents (his mom dying had an impact on that) and once again measuring himself up to his father while also feeling devastated that his darling son who he loves so much wants him dead and he truly does not want his son to feel how he felt behind those cold glass panels that slowly grew slick by the warmth of his hands while he pressed them there for hours and hours on end but cinder is right his son is so young and doesn’t even know what death really means and she’s so warm and alive and here and present and so are his children and… he’s ok.
