Juat had a cute exchange between Teacher Gai and Kakashi in GOS I wanted to share.
Maybe the two have been seeing each other for about a year. They're semi moved into each other's house/farm. And Gai is just staring at Kakashi all smitten while the other reads:
Kakashi: Do I got something on my face?
Gai: No... have you ever been in love before?
Kakashi: Hmm? *looks away from book* What brought this on?
Gai: Well... *sits beside him* I just...realized I havr only really loved you... *runs hand through Kakashi's hair* I never really dated anyone else before because well... I was a little focused on something else when I was in my teens so I don't have anyone else to compare these feelings to.
Kakashi: Let me guess: it was turtles and sports distracting you.
Gai: IT WAS! HOW'D YOU KNOW?!
Kakashi: Because that's still what you're obsessed about. *poke forehead* That and the history of the gods, of course~
Gai: THEY'RE INTERESTING!
Kakashi: I think they're a liiiittle over hyped. Especially storm god you like so much.
Gai: Don't you make fun, Rival! *poke poke. Stretch face!* He's super cool!
Kakashi: *hehe* okay, sorry sorry~
Gai: Better... and you dodged my question!
Kakashi: Ah you caught me. *more stretch!* okay I'll answer! Have I ever been in love before... hmm... *looks at Gai... eyes soften* I have actually. I have fallen in love exactly 9 times.
Kakashi: yeah~... *touch Gai's face* two of them I was young and didn't realize until reflection. Once I distanced myself after they confessed, rationalizing that he was better off without me. Another I only had one night... that one is hard to think about.. Three I could never directly confess.... and this one where I finally acted on what I wanted... *brush Gai's hair away* And I am so happy that it happened with you.
Gai:.... *leans into hand*.... I'm happy too. *make out*......WAIT A MOMENT. *back's up. Counting fingers*
Kakashi: Oh. That's Ibiki.
Gai: EH?!? THE GOD OF JUSTICE AND PUBISHMENT?!
Kakashi: What can I say, justice is hot~ and everyone loves a little punishment~
Gai: ............. Can't argue with that. *shrugs. He has a crush on the God of storms. Who is he to judge whose god his boyfriend is crushing on!*
(In hindsight. Gai will realize much later that is probably when he should have taken a hint in regards his boyfriend's real identity XD;)
Hxjxjxjs that’s definitely when he should have realized, but it’s gonna take him a bit linger, and he’s honestly gonna be a lil sad Kakashi didn’t get his ‘special mortal’ this time around but happy he found him instead
He’ll realize he was the special mortal when he dies XD
Until then, gai has an entire lifetime here and now to spend with Kakashi, and he doesn’t want to waste a single second 🥰🥰🥰
