Someone tell me why it’s 1:39 am and i’m in bed thinking about god of storms au

Specifically when Kakashi ‘dies’ as a god and crashes down to the farm where his mortal parents live

And those mortals who will one day raise his mortal being, coming outside to find this stranger laying in their yard dying. Going up to him and holding his hand

Trying to comfort him as he dies

And the last thing they see if him open his eyes, the flash of purple lightning in his blind eye, and then this stranger just… disappears as if he never existed in the first plaxe

The entire time Sakumo’s forced to stay back and watch his son die because he can’t show himself to the mortals, and it’s tearing him apart not being able to be by Kakashi’s side

But of course haha, I'm still not very far through it but I can certainly give a small piece :)

Gale's breath punched out of his sore lungs in a sharp exhale as the panic he had become accustomed to wrapped itself through his body, an old friend making itself at home once again and squeezing until he felt like his bones would pop with the force of it.

His hand shot out to his side, seeking blindly for that feeling of cold steel, the only thing that could stave off the panic and give him some sort of false security. The movement was futile, though, fingers finding nothing but empty air as his ribs screamed at him in protest, sharp and dizzying.

The pained whine-turned-sob that escaped him, a familiar and reminiscent sound like the one from before, couldn't be held back even if he wanted to.

"Don't strain yourself. You'll only hurt yourself more."

The hairs over every inch of Gale's body stood to attention at the dark drawl that reached him in what he could recognise now as low fire light, vision still blurred and distorted but getting clearer with every passing moment, hurried along by the immediate adrenaline that consciousness fueled.

I don't want to give too much away, but it's coming along piece by piece. If only my brain could have everything immediately typed up on the screen in a millisecond life would be SO much easier!

Gods of Storms AU

Virgil, god of Lightning. Arguably the scariest because of how much damage lightning can cause but also strangely beautiful. He’s the first on scene when something is about to go down, and he tries to spread his lightning as to not hit anyone but warn them (it is hard, though, and he’s made mistakes). He’s also the god of caution and nightmares (and protection, which people tend to forget - when you think “this is it,” he reaches out to grant a mini miracle or gives you that gut feeling that something is off). He’s also recently gained the title of God of growth, not in the sense of plants but in the sense of personal growth.

Roman, god of Thunder. Let’s be honest Roman ROARS onto the scene wih his voice moments after Virgil has sent the first warning of a grand storm. He shakes the earth and tells of coming chaos. He wants you to KNOW that you better sit back and watch. He’s also a god of theater, specifically music, dreams, adventure, and Disney (“You are not the god of Disney, Ro.” “Fight me, Stormy Night!”) He’s also a god of insecurity and ego, which... somehow explain him just right. While he primarily used his storm roars as a protection of the people, being a princely god, the thunder is also him letting out his frustrations often, which sometimes leads to shattered glass and more damage then he foresaw.

Logan, the god of Downpour. He drowns the world with the might of the heavens, trying to desperately balance the ecosystem. Humans keep messing with his careful plans with ozone holes and pollution, them dang it! He’s so stressed but he’s trying to stay calm (his rain is his major emotional outlet, which is fine to cope for now but it isn’t the best method because he can cause flooding and damage). Outside of storm crafting, he tries to maintain an air of apathy, remaining logical towards others. He is a god of Curiousity, Knowledge, and Constelations (“AND NERDS!”)

Patton, god of Storm Winds. He billows through the trees with unkept energy, helping guide animals away from the storm and whisking away the garbage of the earth. He doesn’t mean to be so strong sometimes, but his powers can get away from him. He’s a big guiding force of the storms, as he also knows how to calm everyone when need be. He’s alternatively the god of Baby animals, of compassion, and of found family. He is also the Patron (“Don’t you mean ‘Patton?’” “Please stop, I’m begging you.”) god of Good Dads and Dad Jokes.

(Deceit is always a god of deciet, one who whispers that the storm is tame, to travel when one shouldn’t. Nobody knows him very well but Virgil, and most gods have multiple titles, which Deciet doesn’t seem to have... or, at least, that’s what he now shows them)

I kmow the god of storms au is pretty cemented in how it works, but i have been thinking a LOT about Sakumo falling for a mortal

And Orochimaru still turning that mortal into a kitsun, but AFTER she has Kakashi.

So Kakashi, Demi God, grows up with his mother’s people protecting and helping them, and even going into battle with them

And the gods expect him to live for hundreds, maybe even thousands of years. Only for Kakashi at the sweet age of 31 to face down people attacking his village

And it’s just him fighting because his people arn’t orepped for a fight and they need to protect the sick, old, young, etc

So Kakashi faces these attackers on his own, ine verse 100+

And him wins, but he’s mortally wounded in the fight. So Hashirama and Mito (and Madara slightly reluctantly) agree to make him a god

And as soon as they do, rain falls on the planet for the first time. The second breath leaves Kakashi’s mortal body and he becomes a god, the world gets its first rainfall

Which is how the world god its god of storms
