God of Storms au

The electric eel is an accidental creation. Something that just sort of happened, and is all the more beautiful because it was never a purposeful creation.

Kakashi was sotting on the side of merchant Gai’s boat one fine after noon with Hiroki at his side. Between them was a small container with a lone eel swimming around in it.

Hiroki proudly explained how he’d caught it, and how he was going to release it now that he’d gotten to see it up close for a few hours

Wanting to sooth the agitated eel, Kakashi dipped his hand into the container and plucked it out of the water with ease. It wrapped itself around his hand, calming as soon as it felt the power coursing through his veins.

While he’s holding the eel, Hiroki very happily asked Kakashi when he’s going to properly ask his papa out

This causes Kakashi to start blushing, and electricity to spark from his hands. As it does, it prickles against the eel

Except, instead of hurting the little eel, it melds with it. Becomes a part of it.

So the eel, once regular like all other eels, becones a special blend of water and electricity

And it also becomes the animal associated with Hiroki, since it was because of him that it was created

Someone tell me why it’s 1:39 am and i’m in bed thinking about god of storms au

Specifically when Kakashi ‘dies’ as a god and crashes down to the farm where his mortal parents live

And those mortals who will one day raise his mortal being, coming outside to find this stranger laying in their yard dying. Going up to him and holding his hand

Trying to comfort him as he dies

And the last thing they see if him open his eyes, the flash of purple lightning in his blind eye, and then this stranger just… disappears as if he never existed in the first plaxe

The entire time Sakumo’s forced to stay back and watch his son die because he can’t show himself to the mortals, and it’s tearing him apart not being able to be by Kakashi’s side

God of storms au

During mortal Kakashi’s life there’s a fight for the throne. Two leaders, the current queen (Ayako) and the ‘rightful king’ (Enkai) fighting for power

(Though Ayamo would honestly prefer to give the job up, but to someone she knows will be good at it (which does end up being Enkai)

During this bloody fight, Enkai ends up on the hill where Kakashi’s temple sits. He has two men at his side, and only rwo against him

Unfortunatly, his opponents are Kakashi and Gai

In the fight, Enkai’s sword slices deep into Gai’s leg and gai goes down. He thinks the fight is won when Kakashi stops, but then the lightning strikes

And shortly after the lightning, the rain falls

The first rain in 31 years

A rain that is a complete downpour, making it impossible for anyone to see what’s happening in front of them. Except Enkai does see

He see’s Kakashi lunge at him

He see’s the attacks that slice at him, some being blocked and some connecting deep into his skin

He see’s the look of pure fury in Kakashi’s eye as he stands over him, ready to strike him down, when Gai’s voice rips through the air commanding Kakashi to stop

And he see’s the moment that fury dies from Kakashi’s eyes, and the rain stops falling the next second. He watched as Kakashi’s collapses to the ground, and he stops his men when they return to his side and try to kill the unconcious kakashi

He knows killing a god, even in morfal form, can only lead to a terrible fate.

Enkai gives up the fight then and there. If there’s anything that can help him understand that he is not ment to rule (at least at this time) it’s the support of a god turned mortal fighting for the current queen

What he does do, after facing the queen and agreeing to work with her instead of against her, is visit Kakashi and Gai in the make shift medical tents outside the castle. There he see’s Kakashi sitting diligently by Kakashi’s side waiting for him to wake up.

Gai with one less leg than he started the fight with

Just the two of them, Enkai asks Gai if he knows who Kakashi is. Who he really is.

Gai doesn’t answer with words, but just nods his head

Enkai tells him that if the world is going to survive, he’s going to have to say goodbye to Kakashi at some point. He just knows this is the only way for the world to get that life giving rain back.

But when he see’s the way Gai grips Kakashi’s arm, fingers digging protectively into his skin, he understands it is not an easy thing to ask him to do

To give up the man he loves for Kakashi

He tells Gai as much, admitting that if he were in his position he would feel the same way Gai must st that moment. Confused, heartbroken, and determined to protect his lover

Do you think Rin ever saw Gai again after Hiroki is born? Like I can see her 100% always checking in with Hiroki and playing with him personally everytime he jumps in the ocean for a swim while Gai fishes or is talking to someone or just keeping the boat going, but I don't see her directly talking to Gai anymore. To him, she was just that mysterious woman who kept appearing on his boat and to whom he had a WONDERFUL experience with. Both talking to her, lending her clothes, and "creating" Hiroki.

But I could also see her popping up while he's on his deathbed. Maybe she said something like: "Don't worry. You were an amazing father. I'll watch over our son from here on, so he'll never be lonely. Now rest, my friend."

Before leaving so he can spend his last moments with Kakashi.

I think, given her connection with Kakashi, Rin would make a point of keeping her distance from Gai as much as possible after Kakashi finds out

She thinks she’ll hurt her friend by being near gai, and Kakashi never really realizes that this is what she’s thinking

Of course there are times when they see each other, but they’re fleeting and Rin makes it very clear they are just friends (which Gai is more than happy with because he has a handsome customer he wants to ask out)

But then when Gai is dying Rin’s ready to keep her distance, even though it breaks her heart not to say goodbye to her friend, until Kakashi shows up like ‘what the f*** are you doing? You’re his friend, go see him’

And she realizes that while Kakashi was initially upset and hurt, he doesn’t do jealousy and would rather see both of his friends happy instead of harming themselves in some weird understanding of his feelings

So Rin gets to see her friend and say goodbye, and promises that Hiroki will always be protected. Not just by her, but by Kakashi and Nakano as well (and probably a few other people)

I kmow the god of storms au is pretty cemented in how it works, but i have been thinking a LOT about Sakumo falling for a mortal

And Orochimaru still turning that mortal into a kitsun, but AFTER she has Kakashi.

So Kakashi, Demi God, grows up with his mother’s people protecting and helping them, and even going into battle with them

And the gods expect him to live for hundreds, maybe even thousands of years. Only for Kakashi at the sweet age of 31 to face down people attacking his village

And it’s just him fighting because his people arn’t orepped for a fight and they need to protect the sick, old, young, etc

So Kakashi faces these attackers on his own, ine verse 100+

And him wins, but he’s mortally wounded in the fight. So Hashirama and Mito (and Madara slightly reluctantly) agree to make him a god

And as soon as they do, rain falls on the planet for the first time. The second breath leaves Kakashi’s mortal body and he becomes a god, the world gets its first rainfall

Which is how the world god its god of storms

In GOS, do you think Gai maybe adopted any normal animals while he and Kakashi were long term dating in his teacher life time? Maybe he brought home some ducks they could raise on the farm for meet and eggs Or some barn cats he introduced to Bisuke and Bull first, before releasing to help with mice. Or maybe he found his own dog and asked if he could raise them on the farm with Kakashi.

Just cute moments of Gai wanting to raise animals with Kakashi and also add thibgs to the farm with his permission because its as close as he can get to moving in with his god boyfriend.

If Gai were to adopt animals, it would need to be animals in need of care

Stray hungry dogs

Injured ducks

Cat’s that are causing havok in the village but take great care of the farm.

He’s not just picking up random animals, but animals that need a bit of care. Which is maybe how he unknowingly meets Hana, because he brings an injured animal to the farm and Kakashi gives her a call for help
