Ever heard of a company called Toei? Well, they asked Stan Lee for permission to make their own Japanese version of Spiderman, with a complete rework: new back story, new powers, new … MECH?????? Well, it is Japan. And I know several of you probably think it’s just a rip-off of Power Rangers, but I don’t think so anymore. I’ve watched 8-ish episodes and think it’s pretty different from Power Rangers, except for the giant mech (but that’s a given).
I honestly think Toei’s version has more likeable characters. Stan Lee was intrigued at the idea of a Japanese envisioning of one of his creations. Well, it’s Toei, and they did a great job.

Now about the song,
I like it and plan on doing a cover of it. It’s got a similar feel to other super hero show themes from that time. I don’t think it sounds too Japanese, besides the lyrics. It’s simple and well executed. In fact, people like it so much that it was worthy of being covered by Hatsune Miku. There are a few differences in the lyrics. Some of which may be mistakes. But I don’t freaking care. It’s Hatsune Miku singing Toei’s Spiderman theme song!
By the way, the Spiderman’s “space ship” Marveller transforms into the mech Leopardon, which is in NO way a reference to a Tigerzord…
