I totally get what you mean about Being Perceived by cc's. I have pretty bad RSD, so the thought that the people I've drawn fanart of might see it and have an opinion about it can be pretty intimidating (especially with. um. that one art piece I've made.)

But in the end, I'm also fine with it. I know that I'm never going to have any kind of actual connection with these people. I know that, as time goes on, whatever memory they might have if me will be forgotten. (I hope) they're all aware that, when famous, there's going to be a certain level of Perceiving done of them, too. It's a two way street, really.

And I also think that, as long I'm like respecting basic boundaries and isn't putting them on a pedestal nor the opposite - if I'm just treating them like regular people basically - then I think I'll be good in their book.

you put all my thoughts into words right there! especially with that first paragraph, the rest of what you said is what I needed to hear tbh :’) but yeah, i really do agree that realistically there really shouldn’t be any problems at all. like you said, it’s a two way street: with them putting out the content and us responding to it with our own forms of appreciation, at some point they’re gonna bridge the gap by acknowledging it lmao. as long as everyone is respectful about it there shouldn’t be any problems. it’s just strange knowing that you can be Perceived back and that we’re not just in our little fandom bubbles
