Legacies Season 3: Episode 6 = A.
Okay fair warning. I laughed through this whole episode. Some things probably weren't even funny, but I just found them hilarious. So, fair warning.
To start though I love how right off the bat, we got Hizzie content. I mentioned in my last post that if they were going to have this separation between Hope and Landon and give Hope that whole epiphany about being their for her friends, than they needed to show it. We got some Hizzie in this episode and I am expecting more. More Hizzie, Hosie, KalebxHope, LizziexKaleb, and every variation of Super Squad members. The writers better bring it. When Landon gets back, he better be thrown in there. Some Lizzie x Landon. I love them! Landon x MG, Landon x Kaleb, you get my point.
I laughed when Lizzie psyched up the recruitments for the school and then only like six showed up.
I laughed when Lizzie tried to tell Hope she had to talk now, and Hope was basically like ‘Nah, fam’ a deal is a deal.’
I laughed in the face of Alaric Saltzman because everything I have ever said has happened! He is tanking the school! Parents sent their children to school, where they hope they will be safe, safety that Alaric himself promised, then turns around and has those same kids practically gear up and fight a war with Malivore, battle Dark!Josie, and run rampart because of the appearance of the Necromancer. No dude! Alaric has too much going on and he needs to drop the Headmaster hat. Lizzie asked, how long were those letters on your desk? Too long! They could have rectified this sooner, but no. If there was anytime that it was pertinent for Caroline Forbes to come back and take over, it is now. Don’t even get me started again on my rant about him and vampires, oh wait! I don’t have to! Gunter said it for me! A vampire hunter cannot be the headmaster of a school of vampires! It isn’t fair! Alaric proves that he won’t play fair with the vampires.
We’ve met Gunther. He hates Alaric...I love him. I hope he comes back.
I laughed when MG put up the deuces and said he has to go heal his broken heart so he doesn’t have time for the schools shenanigan's right now.
I am proud of MG and his year of ‘NO’. I’m glad he didn’t accept Jed’s apology and I’m glad he didn’t answer Alyssa’s call. I’ m glad he told Wade he didn’t want to play D&D with him, and that him being a comic fanatic didn’t mean he was into everything. Although, can we not diss Wade anymore please. He is not the punch line for this show. I like Wade. I liked his fairy storyline episode. He brought you a new student! Can we just give Wade some love please. Also, I don’t play D&D, but I’m not going to say that anyone who plays it has no dignity either.
I laughed when Lizzie and Kaleb expressed their displeasure over the High-and-mighty Granger student and then proceeded to laugh together about the nickname.
I laughed at Kaleb’s attempt to romance Cleo. I love her accent though.
I feel for Hope in this episode. I truly do. She misses Landon and her magic is going haywire with the loss. However, I see this potentially causing problems. Landon is waiting in Malivore for Hope to rescue him. Necro is making jokes about him being a damsel and just waiting for Hope or that Hope forgot about him. While, back at home, Hope has not forgotten him, but is trying to move on without him and come to terms that he isn’t coming back. Landon will obviously come back and then here is another notch in the Handon relationship. So Hope just gave up on Landon, on them. She didn't fight for him. Landon feels abandoned once again. It’s going to be a whole thing. I just know it. They will fall, but we all know they are endgame, so this will blow over by season 4. We just have to get through the mess of their relationship in season 3.
I know we saw a bit of Malivores attitude and how he speaks and acts in the last episode, with his body jump into Landon, but I have to give him props. He has some crafty punishments floating around in there. Oh no, not only will you have endless darkness, I am making you your own personal hell. Malivore goes above and beyond. He’s good.
I’m laughing through most of this but seriously, when I saw the Necromancer, I honestly was just like. I thought we had a break from you. Why are you still here? Like come on! I need a bit of a break from him. He’s by passing a loveable annoyance and is creeping towards irritating nuisance.
Dorian is back!
Josie and Finch are still being their cute selves. Josie misses her sister. I like that her and Ethan have that missing sibling element to them. I think that would be a cool friendship. Josie at Mystic High will be cool to see, I think.
I laughed at Alaric’s attempt to STILL get Gunter into the school, and he said ‘’Please just stake me’’. I laughed so hard!
I like that Cleo is helping Hope. Sometimes you just need that unbiased third party opinion. She doesn't know anything or anyone. Although, maybe I’m just too deep into the TVDU, but I’m highly suspicious of anyone who comes in claiming to do things out of the goodness of their hearts. ‘’Like, okay, What do you want?’’ So why has Cleo suddenly bonded with Hope?
I have no idea why Landon set out to help the Necromancer solve the riddle. That was stupid. But loved that Landon finally showed some..umph!... and beat him. If you all noticed, the shackles broke when Landon did something he would otherwise never do: and that was hurt someone for personal gain, I’m assuming. The Necromancer said he would never do what it took to get out, and their goes our Phoenix proving us wrong.
I like Lizzie in this episode too. It’s subtle. But she’s growing. She didn’t let Alaric bring Josie back. She was going to go in and spend time with Hope, but saw that she was relaxed and laughing with Cleo, she backed off. She raised her voice at the new girl, but she learned something about her self in the process. She isn’t perfect, it wasn’t going to be all smooth sailing. And Lizzie with MG. Oh Boy. Proud that he told her No. Lizzie, the one person he always had the worst trouble saying no to. Lizzie and MG did have a pattern and he broke it. He did good for both of them. Lizzie needed to hear that. I get what she’s saying with changes and things but hopefully she finds something that’s just her own. Her own happiness, not shared with Josie or other members of the Super Squad.
I laughed when MG realized he could have potentially slept with Lizzie if he invited her in, and then looked pained when he realized that would only happen in his dreams once again.
I smiled proud at Lizzie, when she stepped back and didn’t have a Rafael #2 encounter with MG. Learning from her past.
Landon’s letter blew away. Typical. At least he’s putting his own destiny in his hands and isn’t waiting for anyone. It’s what he has always strived to do.
Did you peep that they called 2020 the Civil War?
This episode gets an A. It honestly was the episode that made me laugh to keep from crying. Not emotional crying like death, but hysterical crying like when you know everything is going down the drain and there is nothing you can do about it, so you just hang on for the ride. That is what I have been doing. Laughing through the episode and giving cheers where they gather. Oh! And please don't think that their crisis is over. Next episode? With the Leprechaun? Did you read the synopsis? This episode they have the students, but they do not have the funds to run the school. How's that for destruction. All of this, to get students to enroll in a school, just so they can lose said school, because they cant fund it.
If this episode was crazy laughter to keep from crying, then next episode will require alcohol to get through.
Give it an A. Maybe it’s because of the unstable laughter. Or maybe I like the growth and moving forward of some characters this week. Who knows.
See you guys next week!
