Kalong (Pteropus vampyrus, formerly Pteropus giganteus) Also known as greater flying fox, Malayan flying fox, Malaysian flying fox, large fruit bat, kalang, or large flying fox, this bat species lacks the ability to echolocate (like other species from this genus), relying instead on its keen eyesight.
