I like to think that the Champions represent core aspects of the region (Steven and Wallace are earth and water, Cynthia is history and myths, Leon is power and monarchy etc.) and so the Kalos Champion must represent Beauty and balance. Serena tries to recreate this old beauty style that Diantha had, with lots of pure whites, but cannot completely let that dominate and adds those blacks accents that defined her (later she goes back to red and black cause that’s too iconic )
