The 'KalyaaNi' (stepped tank) at the Suchindram Temple, Kanyakumari, India. This temple exists very close to the southernmost tip of the Indian peninsula. Of the many lores associated with this place, one explains why the temple acquired the name 'Suchindra'. Infatuated with Ahalyaa, the beautiful wife of Rishi Gautama, Indra approaches her taking the physical appearance of the Rishi to satisfy his desire. Rishi Gautama walks in to find his wife in another man's embrace and curses Indra (it's a different debate that he curses his innocent wife, too) And this is the place where Indra is known to have come to purify himself of his sin, to get rid of the curse.
