@themightytor - I don’t think I’ve heard of a text-based MMO before (I mean, aside from open RP stuff like MUCKs), would be interesting to try out. I’m a very visual person, though, so I’m unsure how invested I can get in something text-based (in regards to wanting to ‘lose myself’ in the game)
@oathkeeper-of-tarth - ESO had an open weekend sometime last year and I superenjoyed the game, especially since most MMOs tend to be very WoW derivative (or, if not, PvP-heavy) and I found it a decent departure from that. The Morrowind expansion looks really good (and obviously the new class being able to summon a bear is appealing to me personally, haha), I do fully intend to pick up the game as soon as I can afford to.
@kalyri - That’s good to know! I’ve actually been wanting to play FFXIV for quite a while. Though, thinking about it, I think I might have a month of playtime on FFXIV from a Humble Bundle I bought a while back. I wonder if that credit is still good...
@bauscheussetime - I played the heck out of SWTOR when it first came out (before it even went F2P) and play it off and on when I get the urge to play an MMO but don’t want to reup my WoW sub. It is pretty WoW derivative in a lot of ways, but I always felt the story elements, legacy system, and Star Wars universe setting made up for that (plus, I mean, I love WoW so I’m not too bothered by things that play like it, as long as they have enjoyable worlds and additions)
Have not played FFXIV yet, but intend to. I did play FFXI a lot when that originally came out but felt more in-tune with WoW when that came out sometime later. It was really enjoyable, though. I don’t think FFXIV is that much like XI but same general universe, at least.
@punk-rock-delacroixs - Never heard of it before but it looks interesting. Kind of reminds me of old-school Diablo a bit?
