There seriously needs to be a better term for the Girlboss x Malewife relationship dynamic because yes it is niche but the name for that dynamic is so very shallow, and does not encompass the true depth that this relationship dynamic has.

This relationship dynamic is the literal antithesis of gender roles, and sexuality and I'm going to argue that it is even more on the opposite side of the heterosexual versus homosexual spectrum because of how inherently contradictory it is to everything society has to say about gender and sexuality.

This relationship dynamic has so much going for it that is so interesting, but no one really wants to delve deeper into it, and I feel like because the name of the dynamic is so shallow and so one-dimensional people don't really delve deep into it because the name Girlboss x Malewife is not only a mouthful but also so feels very one and done.

I've been reading Chinese GB novels for a while now because I need my RR fix, and over there they call it 4thLove because it is quite literally a different type of dynamic.

There is GL, BL, BG and then GB with GL obviously meaning girls love BL meaning boys love BG meaning the guy is the leader in the relationship and GB meaning the Girl takes the lead, and I find that naming system so much more interesting because the stories that the GB genre gets in Chinese novels are insane they're all so diverse and interesting, and I wish we had that in more Western fandoms.

Like yes it is still niche over there but there is considerably more content with varying depictions of what this relationship dynamic has the potential to look like despite how small the community is.

Well first of all this is the advice i give my IRL friends if they ever want to come out.

Is it safe?

I understand wanting to feel some community when you are alone, wanting your family to understand but at first you have to make sure the environment you are in is safe, and accepting enough so you wont get kicked out or worse seriously hurt.

If you are sure that your parent's are understanding and wont abandon you for your identity then you can come out to them.

You'd want to sit them down. Where it's just you and them having a private conversation so that they can really take in what you are going to tell them. Beforehand let them know that this is going to be a serious conversation, and that you want them to listen to what you have to say all the way through first before they give there opinion.

I would recommend writing what you want to say before you say it so that you don't get sidetracked and let the nerves get the best of you. You are going to be nervous and even if you know your parent's are going to accept you. You're still going to have a lot of feelings going into this.

That is completely ok, that's why you write down how you want to come out before hand.

For the actual coming out part try to be concise by highlighting the main aspects of the identity.

That you are a masculine woman who is attracted to feminine men. If you want to use this coming out as a opportunity to let them know you want to start presenting more masculine also do that.

Now they might ask you "well what makes you different from "normal" straight people if you still like men" And to that you are going to have to look at yourself and what you are attracted to. Are you bi and like feminine men exclusively. Are you straight and like feminine men, or maybe you like masculine men too as long as you are the one leading. That aspect all depends on you, and it's something for you to think about before you come out.

Take your time, and don't rush. Make sure you get your thoughts out and don't let the fear overtake you. Coming out can be scary because of how unpredictable the outcome can be but if you are coming out to parents who truly love and will accept you for who you are no matter how nervous and tonged tied you get they will love and support you regardless.

This is honestly my first time hearing this term, so i looked it up and I don't really know if this term applies to me. I'm not really the type to label myself all to often because none of them ever really stick with me.

Labeling myself is a lot of the time very uncomfortable so I just present myself as myself and let people make there assumptions because i find that easier than having to explain.
