This was taken after we tore down camp before we moved out the next morning. This site was pretty nice; close to an awesome view and far enough back to feel pretty safe and out of the wind a bit.
We wanted to play with some timed exposure stuff so Dan took this one of me looking over the cliff down to Waimanalo. I think it turned out pretty well.
The view from our campsite at night. Below you can see Waimanalo and in the far left, Olomana.
The place we decided to camp is behind us up around the bend. It's Kamiloiki Terminus.
Eventually, we came to an old military site (now a tower for cell service and other tech stuff). The sun was going down already, we had a late start, so we had to start looking for a decent place to camp for the night.
There are a few places where the trail is very narrow. It's not too bad though. There is enough room to feel pretty safe. I would definitely recommend taking a hiking stick or a trekking pole for added stability and confidence.
