The soft sensation of stroking along her back finally made her shift from her slumber. Slowly, yet forcingly, Corrin opened her heavy eyes, her vision somewhat blurred. “Hm…” She lifted her head cautiously from her folded arm, now somewhat numb, yawning rather loudly in protest at the disturbance of her slumber. She stretched her numb arm, a groan leaving her lips at the slight discomfort. “Ah…”
Gazing down after a few more blinks, she noted the rather messy calligraphy on the dark paper, the quill with ink shoved aside. Some of her letters managed to smear due to the movement of her arm. Upon further inspection, it was noted that she had been working on some sort of battle approach. There was a messy field scribbled onto the edge of the long paragraph, along with letters. T and R were on one side, while L and X were on the opposite side, near a messily drawn tree. A few X’s were scattered about, and then, S and C were next to each other, right at the center…
It took her a moment to realize that she had fallen asleep while formulating the next plan. Gasping, she sat up, about to push her seat back.
What halted her was what she heard behind her.
“Corrin.” A husky, yet soft tone rang behind her. His hand stopped rubbing at her back. “Why don’t you move to the bed?”
“I’m not done,” she stubbornly replied with a croaked voice, turning back to the paper. Grabbing the quill, she rubbed at her eye, cocking her head. Her long ears twitched as she caught his exasperated sigh, and suddenly felt some weight on her hand.
Slowly, Shura lowered down, clutching her hand and pulling the quill out. “I won’t allow it. You need to rest for the night,” he softly scolded.
She disliked when he did this, but made no effort to argue – he was right. She was too exhausted to keep on going; her eyes were drooping and she welcomed the embrace of a bed. And of her husband. “Hmmm…”
His soft chuckle – soothing music to her ears – jingled as he kissed at her temple. “Time for bed.”
Corrin felt as Shura pulled her seat back, and effortlessly gripped at her waist to pick her up with ease. He cradled her carefully, and only smiled as Corrin snuggled her face into his broad chest. He could not help but lean down to kiss at her forehead, his heart churning with glee at the woman in his arms. She was all he could ever ask for in life; someone to spend the rest of his life with at peace.
His heartbeat broke a smile into her soft lips. He was always so sincere and so visibly happy to be at her side. It warmed her heart. Corrin felt as they walked towards a certain direction, undoubtedly the bed, and finally felt him lower her down as he grunted out faint scolds to the Nohrian princess. She was so sleepy, and found it difficult to make of what exactly he was saying, but made no effort to try and retaliate.
A sensation of a sheet being draped over her body, and the lights dimming was what she managed to decipher as Shura finally stepped over and slipped into the space next to her. She felt his warmth, his broad body inviting her in as he held his arm aloft to make space for her. She gladly took it, slipping against his chest and curling up as he embraced her. “Mm…”
Soft lips pressed to the top of her head, and those same words that she would never be tired of hearing escaped his lips once more.
“I love you, Corrin…”
“I love you…” Was all Corrin managed to muster, before she fell victim to sleep.
Write some sappy, maybe even smutty Shura/Corrin. ;)
TH A NK YOU GILL I LOV E U
It poured down heavily. Accompanied by thunder within thedistance, the young princess had surprisingly awakened to a cold, crisp rain.Gazing through the window near their quarters, she couldn’t help but shake herhead in annoyance at all of the mud, puddles ranging big and small, and thetossed objects scattering the grounds due to the wind’s aggressiveness. Therewas no way they would be able totrain or go into battle in these conditions.
Corrin diverted her attention towards the room once more, awide smile spreading her pink lips at the view of her husband snoozing softlyin their bed. Her annoyance vanished in an instant. Walking towards him, she stopped at the edge of the bed, standingquietly and simply observing him. His hair was a mess – not that it wasn’tusually, but there were strands that stuck out here and there, dangerouslyclose to tangling up into little knots. His facial expression showed comfort, serenity – something that she had not been able to see into him until after they had married. Shura wassleeping better than before; no longer was he succumbed to slumbering out inthe cold, now he had a roof to sleep under, and a wife to sleep with.
She could not help the hand that rose up, gently cupping oneof his cheeks, thumb rubbing at his skin – which was surprisingly soft to thetouch. Her eyes softened, the need to go outside and go on with her dailyactivities and duties no longer her priority.
Shura had stated once that it would be nice to have a dayoff, as he had commented just how muchCorrin managed throughout her daily tasks, and command an entire army of allieswithin the war. She worked hard, usually causing her to arrive much later thanhimself back in their quarters. And it was also not rare for Corrin to arriveand slump herself on the bed due to the exhaustion taking over.
Maybe a day off wasn’t so bad…
With a quiet grunt, the Nohrian princess allowed herself to cautiouslyclimb back onto her side of the bed, her long, white hair curtaining itselfover her shoulder. Her face hit the pillow once more, and she exhaled loudly inrelief. Somehow, the bed felt like the most comfortable place in the world.
She was about to close her eyes shut to perhaps gain somemore shut-eye, when she had realized she had forgotten to do one single thing. Wait… After lifting her face from thefluffy pillow, Corrin allowed herself to hover over Shura. Red eyes blinked ashe studied him, peacefully sleeping. “Hm…”
He was a broken man when she had found him; unafraid to facedeath or any consequence, yet he felt remorse for his actions. When sheremembered her first time actually talkingto him, he had hidden himself in their records room, eating with his hand. When she asked why he didn’t wantto go back to get a utensil, Shura had stated that he did not want to draw attentionto himself nor others. Of course, being the stubborn woman she was, she hadmarched herself over to grab a spoon for him – despite him denying it when shehad offered it to him.
She always thought about how he constantly berated himself, constantly telling her that she deserved so much more, so much better than a lone, homeless thief.Corrin saw good in him, his intentions for his actions, and the admiration thathad rose within her.
Compared to now, he was a completely different man. Therewas much more communication, much more assurance, and Shura was slowly losingthe ideology that he was worthless, that he was so undeserved to have her. Nomore hesitation to touch her, to compliment her, and even tell her that heloved her. That was now much more frequent, and it brought her uttermost glee.
“Shura…” she whispered tenderly, leaning herself down. Theends of her hair brushed against his chest as she settled herself, foreheadagainst forehead. Her hands leaned on the bed for support so that she wouldn’tfall and accidentally wake him up. “I love you so much…”
Soft lips brushed against his own. Mmch. Just a gentle, quick kiss planted on his mouth, showing thelove she harbored for him. The woman wasn’t expecting anything in return, sincehe was asleep.
However, before she was able to pull herself back to herspot on the bed, she was halted by his hand swiftly slipping up, cupping one ofher cheeks. Slowly, his eyelids began to flutter open, bringing him back toconsciousness from his world of dreams. His usual stern, stoical brown eyeswere now warm on her.
To Shura, waking up to Corrin was the start of a new dream.A dream with nothing but happiness.
“Good morning,” she finally peeped, breaking the lovingsilence between the two. Red eyes burned their loving gaze into the male. Shesoftly chewed on her lower lip, watching him stretch a bit and finally open hiseyes fully.
Lips barely parted. “Corrin…” Her name was mostly always the first thing to come out ofhis mouth each and every morning. The way she greeted him, the way she kissedhim, the way she simply declared her love for him never failed to cause a warmsensation to clench around his sturdy heart.
This only made him pull her closer to himself, causing herto squeak. He raised an eyebrow as it had hit him that she was still in bed.Usually when he woke up, she was preparing to go about her duties, and it lefthim pondering on what exactly caused her to not do so.
A roll of thunder boomed within the distance. The princessjumped in surprise in his embrace, then pushed herself up to meet his warmgaze. “It’s a mess out there, so I don’t agree on going out today.”
“Ah…” He nodded.
“Yeah, the whole place’s covered in mud and there’s a bunchthat the wind is doing.”
“I’m sure it only takes either a miracle or hefty weatherconditions to keep you from working,” he pointed out, letting go of her body.
And before Corrin’s response began to escape, Shura had satup. A large hand ran through his messy hair, shaking it here and there. He wasshirtless, and Corrin could not help the gawp at his toned body.
He then diverted his full attention towards her.
Lips parting, she could only – delightfully – as Shura beganto push aside the bedsheets from his lap, and completely turn his body over sothat he stood on his fours. Like a predator, he leisurely maneuvered himselfover her, until he was hovered on top.
Shura had mostly gotten over his shyness when it came totouching Corrin and being able to…expresshis love for her in more ways than words. Before, he would not surpass the actof holding hands, and even with that,he would constantly remind Corrin that she was able to do so much better thanhim.
Now, he was in full control.
Brown eyes bored into her wide reds. Both hands slippedagainst each side of her face, palms resting on the frothy pillow. He settledhimself, barely straddling her hips. A hint of playfulness spread across hisface.
“Finally,” hemurmured, “we have a day to ourselves…”
And without saying anything more, Shura leaned down, takingher lips into a soft kiss that caused Corrin to purr in enchantment.
Deep within her heart, she thanked the Gods that their daywas ruined with the rain.
