Sibling rivalry at its finest. In this world, triplets, always girls, are born to the reigning queen. Each daughter is gifted with some form of deadly supernatural control: elements, living things, or poisons. On their Ascension year, only one sister can live to rule their world. The beginning of the first book was a tad slow with culture development, but once it picked up, I was very surprised and captivated by the story of these powerful sisters battling it out for survival.
