Kanan x Rebels era Rex fans WYA!!!
The two of them bonding over losing friends, family, to Order 66. Sure, Kanan hates Rex for being a clone at first, but he begins to listen to Rex's stories, and starts to see him as someone independent from the group sent to kill the Jedi. He learns that Rex has trauma from Order 66 as well, that a lot of clones resisted imperial control, but the Empire was swift in beating them down.
Maybe theres a little bit of fear, hate, anger, behind what they say to each other. Rex annoying Kanan on purpose by calling him pretty boy and insinuating that he can't do anything without Hera, meanwhile Kanan claims Rex can't think for himself. It just ends with layers of tension between the two of them, and it comes out in the form of hate smooching and more.
Its honestly a dynamic similar to Zeb and Kallus... I mean, with the semi-unintentional genocide enemies to lovers thing going.
