"lol I should make a character that's just a coward. Like. Abdolute nerd. Stupid dumb idiot. Putting him through the horrors." And then that spiralled. Most of his personality was conceived in a Lethal Company AU where he's just like. The most terrified little thing ever. All bark absolutely no bite, he's so terrified all the time and his teammates keep BAITING THE MONSTERS AROUND

After that it just sort of evolved to fit other au's in different ways :/
