I was almost dropping Hanyo no Yashahime in order to wait for it to be complete, but decided to watch episode 9 today and I found some parallels with InuYasha OG show related to Kagura, Kanna, Meioju and the twins.
In episode 10 of Kanketsu-Hen, Kanna goes to a river and drops Kagura’s fan in it. In this same episode, Kanna also submerges in the same river and releases the power of her mirror.
If we compare this river with the one shown in episode 9 of Hanyo no Yashahime, we see so much similarity in it that I personally think it is in fact the same river, but shot from a different angle. I mean, look at the riverside. In InuYasha we see the river from the place where Towa, Setsuna, Moroha and Meifuku stand and in Yashahime we have a shot from the left side of InuYasha’s image.
This is shown after Meifuku drops his father’s armor/shell into it in a memorial cerimony, just like Kanna did with Kagura’s fan.
But it is important to notice that Meioju’s body was preserved inside the river (there were only bones left, but it was still his body) until he is reunited with his armor. When it happened, he’s body started to vanish.
During this episode we see that Meifuku’s father was dead for ten years already, but in his armor something that resembles his soul was sealed and was released when Towa irserted some of her demonic energy in it. And even if Meioju didn’t have his power, he could grab Konton’s shoulder and hold him still.
So as a strong supporter of Kagura being brought back to life in Yashahime, I was wondering if Kagura’s soul could be stuck in her fan and somehow be brought back to life with it. I know she must have an avaiable body for her to be able to return, but what if this river has magic in it? I mean, I see no reason for Kanna reflect the river from her mirror like she did in Kanketsu-Hen episode 10.
Also, Kanna released her mirror’s power from inside that same river.
I know it is just a crazy theory, but I felt like sharing it with this lovely fandom and see if someone has the same idea or a more complete speculation about it. I’d love to read what you guys think!
Oh, and forgive me for my typos. I swear I am trying to improve my english writing skills, but prepositions is my personal failure in every language I know!
