It's My Girl's Birthday! YYYAAAYYY!!!!! 😍😍😍🩷💖💝

Given that I'll be gone for vacation on this blog until July 4th, I figured that in early celebration of Yui's Birthday (which was revealed to be June 20th of last year), I've drawn Yui of the Sr au, both past and present, in how she celebrated her birthday in my headcanon. Also happen to update Mitsuru and Yui's SR design's a bit in this drawing so stay tuned for a new reference for the two😉. (and yes, I was initially going to have almost of the Kizuki cast here in this picture, but due to time constraints and the upcoming of my vacation, I had limited to only Mitsuru, Shinji, and Kaoru in this pic. Which, honestly, feels fitting since, Yui, due to having to spent the most time with their home, happens to view them and the Kizuki gang as a second family to her barring her father and Marie.)

In the past and her childhood, due to being sheltered within her home, Yui and Seiji would celebrate her birthday every year together, spending every quiet yet meaningful moments with just each other as their company and her favorite strawberry shortcake; of which Seiji presented to her when she turned five. However, as she grows older and the long distant assignments and overseas work keeping Seiji occupied, much like with Christmas, Yui would often spend her birthday alone with only a stepford smile in her face and a homemade cake that she made; the same flavor as the one she enjoyed back then.

Just herself. No father to be there for her to celebrate. As well as no friends.

In one history, this lonely tradition would only continue until she had reached her late teens where she'll be a sacrifice to a twisted family of vampire brothers, even both on her birthday and death day.

And yet in this history, the events of Hollows, Revanants, and Vampire demons that transpired heavily changed Yui's life in more ways better than with the vampires; one such being that Yui, in the eve her 18th birthday in the Kisaragi Villa and cutting off the Diaboys in her life, that she'll be celebrating her first real birthday party, and not herself alone.

The friends she made in Kizuki Academy: Iku and Tsumugi holding a party popper in their hands, Kana, Riki, and Makoto after setting their presents in the table. Her senpais, Sachika, Daisuke, Akane, the Hosokawa-Fujiwara stepsiblings, even Rai coming here due to summer break, in having to lay out and cater the party preparations and birthday buffet.

And finally, her second family, Mitsuru, Shinji, and Kaoru stand next to Marie, her former caretaker and mother-figure, holding a two-tier cake in her hands; her favorite strawberry shortcake decorated with chocolate flowers and candied pearls.

All of them having a warm, genuine smile beamed in their faces.

And in return, Yui beamed hers, knowing that this 18th birthday of hers is one that she'll never forget.

wanted to cool down from college midterms, so I inked and colored in a premade sketch drawing from August of Kaoru here wearing an outfit inspired by Vivian from Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door🧙‍♀️💜🔥.

partly due to Kaoru birth month being October (which fun fact: her birthday is on the 10th), given it has spooky scary monsters and witches are no exception and cuz I was thinking about TTYD and Vivian around that time.

Also I can’t help but add in this Vivian plushie she’s holding like it’s so adorable and cute, so yeah Kaoru has a matching Vivian plushie to go along with her outfit 🥰

Managed to sketch in the Kizuki Academy Uniforms. Including the newly-revised male uniform

I even styled each of their uniforms to their own personal preference and jot down some notes since I did mentioned I was going for a Twisted Wonderland and FE Three Houses route of style for these babies.

After a few whole days of resting from drawing hand cramps and spending the Christmas holidays with the family, I've finally have the time to show you guys my updated references for the main cast of Selenic Rebellion. All decked up in a fresh 2000s/early 2010s coat of paint and they're up and rearing to go.

Aesthetic Moodboard of the Main Four 🩷💜🧡💙!

I've been having fun in using Canva these past few days with their moodboard template. Actually quite better than my old method of making moodboards :3

Whew boy it took a while despite one or two days. But I managed to make a proper ref of what these four will look like after transforming; I.e taking the physical form and characteristics of their patron Beasts. As in this will provide resistance and protection when entering the Hollows and the Revenants the lurk within them.

*Jackie Chan Uncle Voice* One more thing. Whenever they’re in their transformative state, they’ll used code names in place of their actual ones as to protect themselves from being caught or seen by others who will try to hurt them (coughs *the diaboys* coughs)

Examples and meanings:

Yui - Rosaria (heavily associated with roses, due to being the primary motif of Diabolik Lovers, the rose colored pink, her religious background and her Rosary, and the phase “Every rose has its thorns”)

Mitsuru - Nivalis (alluding to both his abilities, his favorite flower the Snowdrop, and the fairytales, Snow White and The Snow Queen)

Shinji - Inferno (Both a play on word to a dangerous wild fire and the main setting of Dante’s Divine Comedy)

Kaoru - Atrophie (coming from Atrophy combined with the name “Phie” that comes from Sophie or Euphie, Atropos, one of Greek goddess of the Three Fates or Moirai, and the genus name for the deadly nightshade, Atropa Belladonna)

🐰🌼Easter Bunnies🌼🐰

Told ya there's gonna be a surprise fellas. As for this year's Easter, Iku is back with his Easter Bunny outfit, (custom-made this time) and he's also invited his friend, Kaoru, to join in on the Easter festivities in her own Easter Bunny themed outfit.

And as much as this drawing took me all day just to finish this, I absolutely luv the final version turned out, especially the outfits that I made for Iku and Kaoru in this piece. *happy squeals* They're so cute!

With that being said. Happy Easter Sunday Everyone! May you enjoy a nice chocolate egg on your egg hunt and a wonderful prayer towards the resurrection of our Lord and Savior.

(And yes, i did not go easy on putting in the textures and patterns on this. It had to be as colorful and springy as possible)

After looking into some facts about Yui from @yuikomorii's post on Tumblr, I feel inspired to make some fun and wholesome headcanons and interactions between her and the cast of SR as to counteract/compliment with her or help her with her shortcomings due to having to experience the hands of a positive environment compared to canon where she lived in the Sakamaki mansion or with the Diaboys. 

Also while this made mainly for funsies, it also included some SR lore in there as well from the DL canon material

🌸In contrast to Yui who is not good in mathematics and English, on the other hand, Mitsuru is quite good with numbers as he was interested in math and geometry as a kid and Tsukasa with English as he grew up with an English professor and archaeologist as his dad. As such, the three of them would occasionally have study sessions to help her improve on that a little better. Keywords: Improve and better, not perfect. (Inspired by Mahou Tsukai Precure duo, Mirai and Liko, where Mirai is very academically talented yet is not good with math while Liko is not very talented in academics yet is great with math)

🌸Having to been confirmed that Yui has some old friends in the canon prior to the Sakamaki mansion, it’s once again implemented in this au, as she meets one of them or related to one again via Kizuki Academy’s mystery club members, Makoto and Hikari, and reconnects the bond they shared back then.

🌸In relation to Yui loving sweets, Iku, Hikari and Kaoru also happen to have a sweet tooth as well. Mitsuru, Kanata, Shinji as well to a lesser extent.

🌸Shinji and Kana can relate with her after Yui tells them about about her father, Seiji, being strict and scary despite loving her, given his uncle and her own father to a lesser extent. But they also tell her it’s mostly, in their words, that her father doesn’t want her to do things that would scare him and that his strictness and sternness is something that he knows he doesn’t like to do but does so anyways as to be better with how she acts. Something of which, unknown to Yui, Shinji and Kana, Seiji does and regretfully knows that deep down he scolded her way too much in the past and as such while still strict and stern, learns to slightly mellow out as she grew older.

🌸While she is implied to get jealous easily as she is in the canon DL, Yui’s jealousy is more akin to admiration than pure spite or resentment (similar to Envy from Inside Out 2), as well as clinginess as a result of years worth of abandonment issues. The latter part does gradually drops as she gets better.

🌸Given her love for animals, especially dogs and cats, she didn’t hesitate in binding with Riki and Akane’s pet dogs, Sparky and Ulrich and Kizuki’s student council pet cat, Luna (Yep it is indeed a Sailor Moon reference)

🌸Something that Mai and Sachika happens to know after Yui admits she has short eyelashes and would very tells her it serves as good charm point. And even so, both girls will still tell her that they love that part of herself regardless. 

🌸Yui and Iku very much share a brain cell due to their similarity energetic, childish traits and their whimsy nature in getting on clouds or going to amusement parks.

🌸Naturally very clumsy given her sheltered background, but she does get a bit better on her feet in this au due to amount of fighting she had within the Hollows and Revenants

🌸Having to grew up with no tv and a smartphone, you can bet your bottom dollars that Shinji, Sachika and Daisuke would definitely showcase the wonders and benefits of watching with a TV and using a smartphone.

🌸Selenic Rebellion au-wise. After learning the real reason why Yui couldn’t stay out for too long beyond her strict household, combined with their interactions with the Diaboys, who are searching for Yui to be their sacrificial bride, the SR cast would make big precautions in their favor in teaching Yui self-defense and navigation in order to keep her safe and protected.

🌸While ultimately clear that she didn’t live with the Diaboys as to develop big low-self esteem (no thanks to their presence ofc) in this au, some part of her does have low-self esteem about herself. And it’s only through the kindness and support of her Selenic team and her friends, even admitting about their own insecurities and self-worth and esteem that she actually loves herself. Not as Yui Komori the weak and submissive bride of the Diaboys nor the vessel of Eve or host of Cordelia, but as Yui Komori, the real Yui Komori, who was truly loved as herself.

🌸Akane can attest to that statement in seeing Yui admitting she has small feet, in contrast to her admittedly big feet. As such in addition to experiencing some girl to girl time in shopping or hanging out on sleepovers, Kaoru, Sachika, Mai, Kanata, and Hikari would have Yui and Akane go shoe shopping. 

🌸The SR cast can agree that Yui has some good legs and big hips. Mitsuru especially as after he and Yui get together, he can’t help but gladly take advantage of fondling Yui’s plush legs and hips. Vice-versa with Yui with caressing his smooth back and buns *wink wink nudge nudge*

🌸Either drools or nosebleeds when seeing some of the attractive or pretty Sr cast (Sachika, Akane, Shinji, and Mitsuru) in good outfits or seeing attractive yet confident and kind people in general. 

🌸Mai, Mitsuru, Shinji, and Tsukasa can very much be either approve or be flustered by this teasing smooth talker trait of hers 

🌸In relation to not knowing how to dance or learn any physical activities, Kanata and Iku would be her best teachers in helping her with that, thanks to Kanata experience with swimming and Iku experience with other dance moves, besides ballet (plus some ship fuel to his rare pair ship Mitsuyui lol).
