kaptainkoalaoshiz replied to your post “So, they have a seed. But like, it’s from the tree. Which lost....”
Maybe..... The abomination are Sylvains that are being corrupted, twisted, made mad. Whenever they 'lose', are killed, they are set free from whatever corruption that held them, they've 'won' against it and won't hurt anyone ever again. I believe the Seed was a gift, to thank them for freeing the Calamitree's Sylvain.
Someone else also suggested that the seed may be from the light beings, rather than from the bom-boms per se, and I can get behind that.
But I'm curious why you think the light beings are Sylvan? I didn’t get that impression. They have four arms, for one thing. And I keep coming back to the fact that Thacker’s Journal, and Mama’s own experience, suggests that nothing like the bom-boms exists on Sylvain.
I simply adore the image of Lance telling Antok "if I run and jump at Kolivan, he will most certainly catch me in his arms" Jack Perralta from B99 style and doing it, Kolivan being v surprised but able to catch him WITHOUT dropping the cup of coffee and Lance taking advantage of the situation by stealing it from him!
The best part about this
Is I can completely imagine this happening. Lance, eyes wide, as he realizes that… Kolivan managed to catch him without dropping the cup. Once the initial surprise goes by, of course he’s gonna be a little shit and steal the cup. Of course he is. Why wouldn’t he.
I just, I love it. Great HC, perfect scenario, 10 outta 10.

Quick question since I've been looking at the EO (mostly IV) tag, what level can you beat the Hollow Queen at Stratum 2? (Misty Ravine) I'm currently 32/33 but I have a lot of difficulties.
Generally speaking, you can beat them at the same level as the ally character for that stratum. I forget what level Wufan is, but I’m usually around level 30 by that point and it’s definitely possible if you’re keeping up with the best gear in the shop.
If you don’t mind my asking, what’s your party setup like? That would potentially change how you want to approach the fight. In general though, Wufan’s Snare Circle is a huge boon, as it keeps her from dodging too much. Hood Circle can also be helpful, since that can shut down her magic. If you really want, Icy Aria is the only spell I think she has that’s really elemental, so Ice Rune might help mitigate that if you need to? Volt Rune might also help on the first wave of allies, since they have a strong volt-based attack, but those skills probably won’t be too helpful. Also, some would undoubtedly argue with me on this one, but I feel like clearing out her allies is really important, so if you go into the fight with a maxed out burst gauge, you can have a Runemaster throw out Flame Wall on the first front row enemies, who are weaker to elemental damage. Pretty sure Bursts can’t be dodged, so it’s a quick way to clear them out.
As far as classes go:
Nightseeker was nowhere near as helpful as I would hope. She seems to resist, like, every ailment. So if you’ve got one of those, she can be inflicted with the ailments, but I wouldn’t rely on it, and they might be a good candidate for healing items if you need it.
Fortress can guard Darkness Wing and Dimensional Cut, since they’re melee-based.
Medic should probably have Party Heal, which is generally a good idea since most of her offense is party-wide. Use it conservatively, though, if possible. Line Heal can do just as well for far less, since Dimensional Cut is inaccurate as all hell.
Runemaster can do whatever, she has no elemental weaknesses or resistances.
If you have Dancer, Guard Tango can reduce the physical moves, and Chase Samba is one I HIGHLY recommend, since you’ll follow up ally attacks, giving a bit of extra damage while allowing Dancer more time to set up other buffs to play item healer as needed.
If you have Sniper, use the Head Bind and let Wufan re-apply Leg Binds. Been a while since I ran Sniper, but I don’t remember it needing much else.
Landsknecht...okay, Landy is an incredible late-game and post-game class, but is kinda underwhelming early-game, since Link Skills require a ton of skill points to use effectiveless, and passives, while great, can only do so much. So just...bear with it. Great class, but may take a while to realize just how good.
Thank you for your amazing content! It always brings a smile to my face!!

For me, there is positive magic(healing, protection) and negative (used to attack) but it's neither good or bad. It's just a tool. You don't think a knife is evil because someone stabbed an other person with it. You don't think it's good because you can cut your meal with it. It's just a tool. And so is magic.
But I’d argue even that distinction between positive and negative is an arbitrary divide. Is that the nature of it- are there different properties to the two- or is it how it’s used?
For example- imagine “protection” involves putting up shields. You could murder someone with a shield even if it’s as simple as “raise a magical barrier that things can’t cross”- use a barrier to prevent them from getting out of a dangerous situation, or even actively using the barrier to crush them. If you have more precision about where the barrier goes, placing strategic barriers in, say, someone’s bloodstream, or the lungs.
There was a character in a series I read a long time ago who was a barrier fighter and one of her abilities was that she could simply set up a barrier inside of someone and repel the two halves of them in opposite directions. I don’t know if this was ever taken to its grisly conclusion (she only used it to defeat a bloodless fantasy monster in my memory) but that just sounds like an incredibly nasty way to die. And very effective.
Healing? If that’s specifically the power to reconstruct tissue... my brain goes first to things like cancers that are basically unregulated tissue reconstruction. Even “classical” healing with very stringent rules in place to prevent abuse... imagine a healer who uses their ability to patch wounds in order to graft things onto people to create super-empowered individuals for unpleasant ends. There could be healers who could offer their service to torturers, or even work as torturers themselves, as they’re able to keep their victim precisely as alive as they want to.
Comparatively: imagine someone with destructive electric powers but an incredible precision control who applies just enough lightning to defibrillate someone whose heart has stopped. Or a fire-wielder who, in a pinch, is able to cauterize an ally’s wound to prevent them from bleeding out. Even if you try and again, set very strict rules on it- a character who is able to just outright cause death to things- there are ways that could be exercised benevolently. If their aim is good enough they might be able to sterilize a wound, or even an entire surgical operating room- bacteria’s alive, after all. Being able to sweep an entire surface with the power of death could ironically be an important precursor to saving someone’s life.
My point is: even the use of “positive” and “negative” in that context ascribes a morality to functions when any function can be used constructively or destructively, to help or harm- just as you say. We have perception biases that some functions are good and some functions are bad- but I really feel like the only way to appropriately measure the morality of the action is the intent behind it, and trying to categorize based on the end result gets peculiar, especially when often it feels like it’s a specific, defined “school” of magic that is the Evil Magic that good people must not use even if it potentially has utility that could save lives.
