K Road & surrounds
The glass bus stops on the Karangahape Road over bridge add an additional splash of colour to Auckland's most famous street.
One street south is Cross Street with its skybridges.
Cross Street looks pretty innocuous and isn't exactly a destination in its own right but its proximity to the busier K Road has lead to a couple of small shops and cafes trying to make it work.
The East Street cycleway was quickly built in 2020, proving that Auckland Transport actually can re-allocate loadspace to create safer multimodal streets but they just choose not to.
Back up on K Road, the pink 'cruise way' as its known affectionately was getting some good use in lockdown.
The sun wasn't quite at the right angle for walking along Hopetoun Street, and the wind on this day nearly took the cap off my head, but it is one of my favourite views with Te Ara I Whiti (the pink Light Path) leading to the Sky Tower.
