The tactile motions of explaining things— he remembered the little pokes to his arm to emphasise tattoos when they had first met, the way Kyouji had grabbed his chin to make him look at him when Satomi couldn’t stop crying. The persistent way he sat next to him in the karaoke booth when he wanted to be annoying, the ease with which he had picked the bit of rice near his mouth. But the next time they meet after their… reunion, Kyouji greets him with a smile. Always a smile and none of the buzzy hovering that had likened him to a particularly cheerful Great Dane.
