The rain was definitely a very unpleasant surprise. Even if Oikawa wasn’t one to watch the weather forecast too often, her mother always did it instead of her so that she could know whether to go jog or not. It seemed that either her mom had lied to her, which was highly unlikely, or the Weather God was bored and had nothing better to do than to feed off her misery as she held her hands on top of her head, trying to shield herself from the rain.
She hadn’t put on waterproof makeup.
Half-running, half-walking as fast as she could in the heels she was wearing (her skirt didn’t make moving any easier) she kept looking around for a shelter. Her mind had gone blank from the shock of her makeup getting ruined, so thinking was a hard thing for her to do. Much to her relief, though, she saw a small bus stop in the distance.
She quickly ran up to it, almost falling in the process, and sat down on the bench next to the man, not realizing who he was at first. When she glanced at him, she slightly stiffened, a nervous laugh escaping her throat. It was Daichi. Of all people it had to be him. At least he didn’t look like someone who’d judge her too hard for looking bad. It wasn’t her fault.
The question definitely took her off guard, brown eyes widening in surprise. The kitten was small and very, very cute. She found her cheeks become warmer as she carefully took it from his hands, holding it against her chest.
“I--It’s so cute! Where is its mother? Poor thing all alone in the rain... Did you steal it just so you can win my love?! That’s low.”
