I love Liz Taylor and I wanted to paint her violet eyes! I have always been fascinated by her, her strong character and star status. I found an old black and white photo where in my painting I could add the violet eyes, the pink lips,red straps of her halterneck bikini against the black and white of her portrait and the yellow background thus creating an interesting color scheme. I painted in oils on a thick edged painted side canvas and then I have used a layer of Epoxy resin to give the painting a sharp shiny modern twist. The painting is ready to hang.

In this painting I have incorporated my two of my favorite subjects ,retro women and beaches.I played with the colours and allowed myself to have some fun reminding myself that art needn't be serious. My love of the fifties and fashion is easy to see here. Having been a set decorator/stylist in the British Film and TV business I find myself painting scenes that might fit in specific rooms and many of my paintings look great in bedrooms.So retro so pop art and so colourful. This painting is painted on a thick edged canvas and the sides are painted dark grey and is ready to hang.

This is a painting from my series of women in interiors. I am always thinking and dreaming,often thinking about my next painting and this is reflected in my chosen topic for my paintings which are based on myself as a woman, thinking dreaming and often plotting.What is she staring at and what are her thoughts and who is she and what is she waiting for.....these are the questions the viewer often asks. In this painting I have chosen a reclining woman in a dress, heels kicked off and she is waiting, thinking,dreaming and you have to use your imagination to decide what is happening next. I love painting women in interiors, I love painting clothes and I also love painting buildings so I designed and thought up the painting based on all 3 elements. I adore Hockney and especially his early work and if any of his style has rubbed off on me I am pleased. I paint using all kinds of visual tools, photographs that I collect and all kinds of images to make up the scene of my paintings. This Painting is painted in oils and I have framed it in a box frame and it is ready to hang.
