how is wheat thick doing? is the penicillin working?

it actually is working! before the penicillin, her breathing was all wet and gurgly. now it’s obstructed, but without the horrible snot production. unfortunately, she’s still not feeling great (she gets out of breath easily, her ears hurt even with the opiods, and she has chronic painful gas from the longterm antibiotic usage), so she will have to be euthanized soon.

WT’s an absolute fucking tank despite all this, so I’m not sure when it’ll take place. It could be tomorrow, it could be this weekend, it could be two weeks from now. I had this exact problem with Furby last year, where I actually BROUGHT HIM IN to be euthanized, saw that he was acting all perky & chill, and took him back home for two more weeks of life before finally pulling the trigger. there’s such a fear of “what if I do it too early? Is this really the right time, or am I just exhausted from caring for a dying animal? are they actually miserable, or am I overinterpreting? ”

tl;dr end of life is hard & unpredictable, and people who adopt senior animals have nothing but my respect

this is gonna sound morbid, but i am kind of looking forward to finally figuring out if cardinal’s parents are dead by show!canon. the only reason i have not mentioned the dad in fic is bc i wanted them to be as show!compliant as possible, and technically, he does bite the dust before catherine, so there is that

also, just from a “i would love this for the heartbreak it would cause” standpoint, i almost, ALMOST want them to bang. lise and cardinal, i mean. bc s2 hinted that she was kind of attracted to him, but if they did this now, it would emotionally destroy both of them, and it would be glorious to watch. not that i actually want the show to go there, but you know... if anyone out there wants to write a fic, i’d devour it

and on a more serious note, i want to hear lise refer to sex as boinking. if this show turns into a complete shitshow and ruins everything, i won’t even care, as long as i get to hear karine say it in her accent.
