Now that I am off twitter I'm going to make my claim for my rare pair cuz this will go into a bottomless pit:
Lucio x Kiriko
Listen like yeah Kiriko was just introduced so we don't know her whole story and is stuck in the same limbo as Hanzo of where exactly she'll be fitting into the Overwatch lore. I however just think her and Lucio would be fun since who else is stuck in this limbo? The man himself, Lucio (he at least hasn't yet to be recruited ircc in the New Blood comics).
They both have this strong sense of justice to what's best by their family and by their community as a whole.
Lucio stole back the technology his dad created from Vishkar to protect his hometown and later aid Orisa and Efi in running out Doomfist in The Hero of Numbani (this is secondhand info I could be wrong).
From what little we know of Kiriko she became what Hanzo and Genji couldn't: a solid balance of familial expectations and one's own needs. She strongly believes in upholding her mother's training while still appreciating and harnessing the fox spirit from her grandmother to protect the town she cares for (along with some donuts despite her mother's wishes lol).
From a lore standpoint- they've never interacted but when has that ever stopped this fandom (*cough cough* yeehan *cough cough*)?
Anyways I have some voice lines from the game that when I heard them I was fully surprised (also bless Overwatch Interactions on YT for having this lol):
So something I've noticed over the years playing overwatch is that Lucio is a pretty confident guy and he isn't one to be shy around the girls (mainly seeing his interactions with DVA but maybe it's just a mutual understanding between super stars). What got me is this typically confident guy gets all nervous over Kiriko mentioning she listened to his album?
Why?
Kiriko is more of a local hero if anything and has no stake in the music game- why wouldn't he have his typical approach of the overly cheery attitude we hear in other voicelines in the game? Idk it's what got my brainrot started.
The other voiceline is mainly just that Kiriko, despite her sarcastic delivery seems genuinely interested in not *just* Lucio's music but Lucio. Well, at least interested in his musical interests if anything.
Anyways that's my rant on the fox and the frog of Overwatch 2, I'm done being insane
