One or the other... He couldn’t buy both, and that was the part that bothered him the most.

On one hand, the small cat he held in his left hand was perfect; small and overstuffed, it was no larger than his hand and rounder than anything he’d ever seen. And with it being brown and tan, he could name it Fluffy and nobody would question him! Not only that, but it was the perfect size to be a small pillow if he needed it - and good god, did he need one sometimes!

But on the other, he so rarely found anything mouse-related. The small mouse keychain wasn’t as soft and squishy as the cat, but it was definitely more travel-friendly and harder to lose than a larger plush. The body felt like felt and the tiny little whiskers on a cartoony face had his heart as much as the feline, though...  So which did he...?

“...Which would you get?” he blurted, holding both up to the next person to pass by him, expression betraying his excitement. They were both adorable, but which...?

Aoi adjusted the hat on her head, barely able to keep the smile off her lips. The sidewalk performances were usually Dennis’s thing, with her occasionally stepping in as a co-star, but for once she’d wanted to give one a shot on her own... And after turning off his alarm and stealing the hat she’d made him a month before, she’d done exactly that, even dipping into his bag of tricks a few (dozen) times.

And finally, she could understand why he loved doing them so much. The smiles and laughter, the looks of wonder - it was utterly exhilarating! Not a single person who’d attended walked away without a smile, the raven even pushing up the top hat on her head to pluck free a vibrant pink flower, leaning down to give it to a passing girl. Before she could stop to ask where it came from, one eye closed in a wink, finger pressed to her lips; it was a secret~! A good magician never told their secrets!

“Nice hat. Looks good on you.”

But it was the shiver down her spine that made the former soldier’s own smile falter. When had this guy gotten behind her? “A-Ah... Thanks. I think. Can I help y’? Th’ show’s done f’ th’ day.” Especially since she knew Dennis wouldn’t be pleased she’d unplugged his alarm for the sole purpose of stealing away his show without asking.

“Just making an observation. Pretty smiles work with sparkling hats.”

Suddenly, she’d give anything for Yuya to be nearby, or Dennis... Even Aster. He was handsome, she supposed, and seemed kind enough... But even with how relaxed she’d come to be since meeting Yuya, strangers still had her guard up and the woman keeping her distance. “...Thanks?” Oh, why had she deciided this was best to do alone?

  Normally the head of Sector Security didn’t take his strolls, more or less he was usually seen leaving a limo, speaking with important people from the TOPs. His hands behind his back as per usual, how he was always seen. Emerald hues staring around as he departed, the suburban city streets, looming of people and seating themselves, eating and chatting at cafes. Those who could get by, Commons who could live happily along with those who were poor and had to result into stealing.

  His feet came to a halt, his signature devious smirk, cunning as he always was could recognise someone who stood before him. Oh, what joys today brought. “What do we have here? If you wished to seek an audience with me, you could have asked. I should lock you up for confronting me.” He teased, that would such a petty reason to lock anyone up. He knew he wouldn’t do it, but only to hear them out.

Father’s Day. Those were words he’d expected to hear from his wife and son, but never Dennis, and especially not after their last meeting. But even the performer couldn’t deny the warmth they brought, or the gentle smile on his lips.

Lifting a hand, he laid it atop the boy’s head, giving the fiery curls a gentle ruffle. ‘Thank you, my boy…. Thank you.” Awkward it may have initially seemed, but there would never be any denying their bond, despite the fact it was still being mended. “Would you like to stay for dinner tonight?”

If there was one thing Yusho hadn’t expected, it was seeing his former star pupil once more. They’d been brought back separately, not seen each other since the ship, and-

Just remembering how he’d carded himself was a stab to the heart.

“I did.” A short and sweet answer, though his honey gaze never left the redhead. Although… “I wouldn’t let your card fall into the wrong hands, Dennis.” Even now, he could see the potential in him - untapped, pure potential he just hoped Dennis could find for real. All he needed was to understand the true reason for dueling…!
