I cannot possibly say this enough, but as much as Stefan and Caroline may have loved each other they absolutely never would have worked long-term. He consistently chose any and everyone above her when all she wanted was to be loved completely. The priority. Stefan was the “safe” choice because yes, it would hurt to lose him as it would hurt to lose anyone you care about, but it wouldn’t destroy her. I think that graduation was an eye-opener for her and by the time Catherine died, she could at least admit that much. I truly think that she knew she loved him and that he loved her fairly quickly actually well before he left for New Orleans. And as much as her humanity and empathy defined who she was as a person, everyone projected onto her, especially Matt Stefan and Elena. But she loved and thrived being a vampire. Something that Klaus saw, but everyone else refused to acknowledge or be sympathetic of. He may not have been the best man, but he was the love of her life, and you cannot convince me otherwise. I will go to my grave screaming. They were soulmates Your Honor.

"I've told you, MELANIA is a masterpiece of cinematic art which I know from having almost watched the trailer. It's the story of a girl from a country I've never heard of who comes to America to marry a rich elderly man and lie to the camera. It could be called KAROLINE"
