Despite how easily most things came to him (fingertips teasing the corners of perfection), academics was, unfortunately, not one of them. Kise handled his grades with the same sort of carelessness that carried him through life—gracefully and with little resistance—and, were he as naturally adept at studying as he seemed to be at everything else, this would have been a breeze.
However, the reality of it all was that he was embarrassingly bad at wrapping his head around the concepts force fed to him day after day, in classes he occasionally nodded off in. The even harsher reality was the daunting idea of academic probation hanging over his head, like the slice of a guillotine
—which happens to be the cause of Kise being forcefully, and unfairly might he add, cornered into the library. Kasamatsu sits opposite him, managing to look exceptionally disappointed, with various textbooks and previous tests surrounding him like a force field. In a fit of what he presumes is academic prejudice, Kise slumps over the table with an easy sort of grace and a tinge of a whine in his voice.
"It's not fair, though! I should be cut some slack, right? I'm a really busy person, after all!"
