Totally forgot to post this, but another casualty of the flash flood was Kasota’s eye. While Husa was able to take a look at the eye that was scratched by a twig relatively quickly, the damage wasn’t anything she’d be able to fix, and after about a week, he went blind in that eye. Since he doesn’t have an official job in the pack, it’s not a huge detriment, though it is an adjustment for him.

Today’s Backstory: Kasota

Kasota is one of Swift Creek’s only pups, along with his brother Mahetuya. He was a pupsitter for about a year and a half, before he and his brother joined Pihyaa’s pups to make a hunting party, which is now the pack’s main hunting party after the retirement of the party made up of Abaise and Kotsim’s pups.

During the flash flood that swept through the Soft River Pack territory, Kasota’s eye was scratched by a stick, and while Husa tried to fix it, the wound became infected, and while she was able to save his eye itself, he became blind in that eye. He however has continued to be able to hunt, as being the stalker of the hunting party, he mostly relies on his nose.

He is mates with Smoke Cloud, and together they have two pups, the twins Drifting Snow and Drizzling Rain.

Wolf #17: Swift Creek

Oh, one of my favorite wolves, along with her brother, Snowswept Stone.

Swift and Stone are the pups of Daka, Abaise’s cousin (in lore). Their father is a lone wolf.

Swift Creek is one of the pack’s pupsitters, having became a pupsitter to watch her own pups when they were born, as there were several litters in the pack.

Her two sons Mahetuya and Kasota both have mates, though only Kasota has pups at this time. Swift Creek absolutely adores her grandpups Drizzling Rain and Drifting Snow, and is constantly spending time with them and their mother, Smoke Cloud.

Swift Creek is a very maternal wolf, and can be a bit overbearing to her pups and grandpups at times, as she can be rather overprotective for no reason. They all know it’s out of love, but Mahetuya is about the only one who will tell her to back off a bit when she’s being too smothering. Kasota is just too nice to tell his mother off at all.

My new hunting party! In order of role: Kasota, Cardinal Flight, Mahetuya, Swaying Oak, and Forest Shadow!

I don’t really have a name for them, they’re just New Party in my list, I don’t really have them all have names in lore, only on the list so I can differentiate.
