“F-Funny huh?” He lets out a weak, breathy laugh which is quickly followed by a wince of pain. He hadn’t wanted this to end up this way, honestly. It started with the two taking a walk, but then a few ghouls approached them in hopes of having Misty as their next meal. Though Green was able to able to kill them, he ended up with severe wounds.
“I’m just glad...that you’re safe.” Green managed to give her a small smile, reaching a hand up to cup her cheek. “I...finally got to protect something I loved. That’s what matters.” After losing his family, he was glad that he was able to keep Misty safe. But even still... “I...don’t want to die.” The realizaion hit him and tears filled his eyes. “I-I don’t...I want to stay here with you...and Serena...”
And yet he could feel the life seeping out of his body. He was beyond saving at this point. He couldn’t be brought to a hospital after all. There’s no way they would be willing to help a ghoul. “I never got to say it before, but....I love you. I love you, I l-love you, I really do.” He raised his other hand so he was holding her face between his hands, though they were shaking. “I d-didn’t think a human would ever mean so much to me. A-And to think I’d actually enjoy living again...It’s kinda weird.” He had been so accepting of death before, yet now he was clinging to his fading life. “I’m sorry...for leaving you like t-this...”
