The mistreatment of these boys is real
series where the drama peaked in the past and in the present it is a mystery to be unraveled fucking SLAP dude. (spoilers ahead for Max Steel 2013) yes Forge, James, and Miles all made N Tek together, Miles betrayed them for Makino, then Forge, Kat, Jefferson, and Molly all saw Jim die in the final battle, but nevermind that because this teenager has to pass his Driving Test
???
Two things:
The grief and fear of Max’s family as they see him possessed by a malicious entity is powerful (even Jefferson reaching for his handgun, and Forge stopping him… ugh, brutal)
The Elementors being flamboyant and pathetic. Adorable
Lineup
Things Shouldn't Be So Hard A life should leave deep tracks: ruts where she went out and back to get the mail or move the hose around the yard; where she used to stand before the sink, a worn-out place; beneath her hand the china knobs rubbed down to white pastilles; the switch she used to feel for in the dark almost erased. Her things should keep her marks. The passage of a life should show; it should abrade. And when life stops, a certain space— however small— should be left scarred by the grand and damaging parade. Things shouldn't be so hard.

Yeah, I definitely agree. Molly’s involvement and role as a competent soldier in addition to being a good mother is one of the things that REALLY sold the show for me.
I also really appreciated Max and Forge's attitude towards the whole thing. Neither says something banal like "Oh mom/Molly! You can't come with us, it's too dangerous", they're both just happy to have the help. She's got the skills, so she's with the team: the fact that she's a 30 something woman never even entered the argument. I like that, I appreciate that.
And while the cast seems pretty male dominated, I do like how there was at least one other female agent in the N-Tek (Katherine "Kat" Ryan). Even though Molly was occupying the "action girl" slot, she wasn't the only one, so that's neat too. It's unfortunate Kat didn't get to do much in these first 3 episodes, but hopefully we'll see more of her in the future.
