Because I am a Behind-the-Scenes type person I am happy you keep positing these lists. 34. Handwritten notes or typed notes?
35. Tell some backstory details about one of your characters in your story (I’ll leave this open ended so you can pick the character and the fic) 46. What would your story PI look like as a tv show or movie?
Thanks, @kat-atomic - these are great!

If I do notes at all, they are hastily compiled into some sort of Google doc based on PDFs I compile in Mendeley. All the research for Little Steve on the Prairie has been of that variety. An example of my scribble document for that story (it’s about ten pages, I just picked some of the more random notes):
Textiles…Flax sown, reaped, spun, woven - linsey cloth
“Kicking frolics” to create flannel, dudes sat in a circle kicking cloth (no women bcuz was a manly thing to do I guess)…what the shit 19th century
“I shall catch it” - get into trouble
Ballads of Robin Hood/Aesop’s Fables popular books
“Rue” and “stand” to reject or accept the terms of a trade
“Highland Mary” “Annibel Lee” songs poems; possibly chapter titles?

Ooh, this is fun. Okay, Steve in Where the Summer Goes has a scholarship to help with tuition costs for the college he’s planning on attending in the fall, but he’s painting houses to help offset some of his mother’s medical bills, as Sarah is in remission from cancer. Because there is no Dead Sarah Rogers in this fic, but there is still a touchy situation.

Oh, this is fun! Proprietary Information would, let’s face it, be a total glossy romcom with a pinch of angst and espionage. I totally see it as that kind of colorful, too-shiny world you get in The Devil Wears Prada, with the kitchens of the best Nancy Meyers movies. My Steve was definitely a little bit inspired by Harrison Ford in Working Girl, so there’s some of that in there, too.
Generally, it’s just a skosh over the top, bright colors, peppy dialogue. And the sexytimes are shot in a way that’s actually sexy, none of that Fifty Shades nonsense. I want Outlander-esque sex scenes where people are giggling and heads get bumped and everyone’s having a good time and getting off in style, dammit.
