was in the comment section of a fic and there was a comment where the person was speculating whether neil and katelyn would swap notes on the twins in a sexual context and it disgusted me so much i muted them

like eugh "would neil and katelyn exchange..." how about what if i throw up?

idec if i sound like an asshole some pretty gross things come out of the aftg fandom but that was the worst thing I've seen in a while

Never feel bad about muting! It’s always okay to mute & block & also even complain. [I feel like this sometimes turns into weird debate about censorship, which I don’t really understand b/c (a) an individual muting/blocking/expressing distaste for something is not the same as a government imprisoning you and (b) I find that discourse about censorship (pro or anti or whatever) is often rooted in American law, which isn’t universal law].

I think if Neil & Katelyn were ever going to become friendly I don’t think the basis of their friendship would be…. Discussing their sex lives. Andrew is very private, possessively guards his secrets & already doesn’t like Katelyn, so I don’t think he would want Neil discussing their sex life with her. Neil, I don’t think would want to know about Aaron or Katelyn’s sex life. Moreover, I think the kind of sex Aaron/Katelyn & Andrew/Neil would be having wouldn’t really be… the same kind of sex. Not taking opposite gender vs same gender into consideration, Neil having sex with Andrew is going to involve taking Andrew’s past CSA/SA trauma into consideration, which is part of the reason Neil discussing having sex with Andrew, especially with someone who isn’t privy to Andrew’s trauma, isn’t going to be feasible without disrespecting Andrew’s privacy/boundaries. Maybe some people would be okay with their SO talking to their siblings SO in explicit detail about their sex life, but I don’t think that makes sense for Aaron/Katelyn & Andrew/Neil.

Also, I don’t know what Neil & Katelyn would even swap notes on? Again, I think we’re getting into the same bizarre narrative that wants Neil & Katelyn to look physically similar or act similar (even though that narratively doesn’t make sense because Andrew & Aaron are ultimately looking for different things from life) that implies because Andrew & Aaron are twins they have similar sexual interests. Which, again, unlikely. And also, kind of weird. Twins are not clones.
