[ID: A variety of colored sketches of a red dragon-like creature called a red drake from the Draconis Memoria series by Anthony Ryan. In the top left there is a close up sketch of the drake's eye glaring angrily. The eye is a golden yellow with bright orange markings in the iris. Below that is a halfbody sketch of the drake walking towards the viewer. It appears to be investigating something with a thin stream of smoke coming from its jaws. It has two small T. rex-like front arms and is walking on its large wing fingers similar to a wyvern. The last image on the left side is a profile head shot of the red drake with its jaws open breathing a thin stream of glowing fire. In the middle top of the image is a full body of the red drake flying. Its body is medium red with darker stripes on the outside of the wings and lighter stripes on the insides. The belly is a pale red-pink color. It has two long back legs and two small front arms. In the top right is a front facing head shot of the drake glaring at the camera with yellow eyes and yellow teeth. It has very dark red horns that twist downwards. The bottom right has a sketch of a red drake on the ground. It holds itself up on its wings and back legs in a hunched over pose. This specific drake has a lot of scaring on the left side of its face and many large spikes on its tail. The background is a pale grey-pink. ./End]
Here is the red drake from Draconis Memoria. So these guys are described as living in large swarms that are so grand they can block out the sun. If a blood-blessed drinks their blood they gain control over fire and heat. They can burn the blood as well, which fuels the engines used in boats. I really envisioned them as more wyvern like, but they do have four confirmed limbs plus wings. So, I decided that its front arms are basically T. rex arms and that it walks on its wings. I like to think they have the hottest fire, but have the shortest blast. They can't maintain it very long and it's a wet fire, kind of gloppy. I headcannon that they flock around a dominant male and female, like a king/queen mentality. The queen stays home to lay eggs, but the king leads hunting and fighting groups.
The dude in the bottom right is a named dragon called Katarias. He is described as the largest red drake, being almost as big as a full grown black. The biggest notable characteristic of his are the numerous scars on the left side of his face. I imagine he must have fought many battles to remain the dominant male in his flock.
Up next are blue drakes!
