Gave my coloring classes an impromptu extra credit assignment based on an in-class discussion — ink and color your “insert fandom here”-sona — and I decided to join in on the fun. I’ve fallen down the WWE rabbit-hole thanks to one of my bestie, so I decided to do my wrestling-sona. I’m a heel whose gimmick is based on Missouri’s own Sasquatch, the Missouri Monster — a.k.a. Momo — and my walk-in music is Lady Gaga’s TEETH.

It’s that time of year again, folks! Mini Comics Expo is this Saturday, so I made a new mini to premiere at the best SEQA event of the year — and that’s saying something, since we’ve got so many amazing departmental events throughout the year!

Sorry this one isn’t a silly one — I was feeling a bit somber as the light faded this fall — but I hope y’all still enjoy it. You can pick up a print copy for $1 at my table on Saturday, along with a bunch of other cool comics and merch sold by our incredibly talented students and faculty.

The Amazing World of Gumball: Adventures in Elmore

I’ll be spending this weekend hanging out at the best comic shop around — Neighborhood Comics, here in Savannah, GA — and y’all should join me!

On Saturday, I’ll be signing the new trade collection of CAMP BIGHOOF, (which I drew.) Drop into the shop any time between 11 AM to 1 PM!

On Sunday, I’ll be hosting the June meeting of COMICS WITH KATE. We’ll be chatting about EIGHT-LANE RUNAWAYS by Henry McCauseland. We kick off at 5 PM and hope to see you there!

Been missing my traditional media days, so I’m getting back into it via an “ugly” sketchbook. With so much focus these days on presenting only perfection on social media, I strongly feel every artist should have at least one sketchbook where they feel free to play, regardless of polish. So I’m trying to not just talk the talk I give to my students, but walk the walk as well.

All sketches were made in under an hour, while “watching” my current media obsession, TASKMASTER UK.
