Designing merch!
What?! I’m so excited to be working on designing merchandise that features my art. I don’t know if it’ll ever turn into anything or if anyone will ever want it, but this is where it all started for me.
When I was 16, I got a job at Joann Fabrics because I wanted to design costumes for movies and make purses and basically BE Raven from That’s So Raven, because she could make anything with her sewing machine. Long story short, my dreams changed as I earned my degree in Environmental Studies and got into the science field instead.
I kept drawing though, and got better at painting and eventually opened an Etsy shop, where my dreams resurfaced! Selling online lead to selling in person and before I knew it I was expanding Kate Creates into a YouTube channel. And NOW I’m designing merchandise! This is beyond exciting, I haven’t been this excited about drawing in a sketchbook in a while.
