Caring about someone doesn’t end with letting them chase their dreams, kid. It’s hard and awful, and sometimes it breaks your heart, but if you can’t be there for the bad, you don’t deserve the good.

Fuck it. She tried very hard during the course of her adult life to not act impulsively. Doing so in the past had always come back to bite her on the ass. But, every once in a while, she gave in. She wanted a new pair of boots but also groceries? Fuck it. She got the boots and ate peanut butter for a few days. Her feet looked fabulous, and she liked peanut butter, so it wasn't that much of a trial. She wanted desert but her scale said no? Fuck it. She upped her cardio for the next few days. She was all about the gratification and she knew it. Not like she was hurting anyone. At least not anyone other than herself.

That was Edgeport for you-- A town of fucking watchers, like birds lined up on a telephone line. Watching and squawking. So long as you avoided getting shit on, you were okay.
