After a heartbreak that played out on the world stage, Kath Ebbs has given us the queer plot twist of the year (and we are so here for it).
In a sweet Instagram post shared on Thursday night, the Aussie actor and influencer announced their new relationship with AFLW star Tilly Lucas-Rodd.
Captioned “The rumours are true! YES I still (stupidly) believe in love!” the post features an assortment of deeply adorable pics of the pair — smiling, cuddling, and glowing with the queer kind of love we all yearn for.
For those who’ve followed Kath’s tough year, this update is more than just relationship news. It’s a celebration of queer resilience, joy, and pride.
Because let’s be real: Kath has been through it.
Earlier this year, they went viral after revealing they were dumped by (arguably pretty toxic) ex JoJo Siwa at the Celebrity Big Brother UK afterparty.
And yeah, we all know what happened next (this is not the time to dwell on people like JoJo).

A new chapter we love to see
This new chapter feels like a reclamation.
A big, warm hug to every queer person who’s held onto hope, even when it hurt.
Tilly Lucas-Rodd, for their part, is no stranger to forging their own path.
The non-binary Hawthorn player made headlines as one of the first current AFLW athletes to speak publicly about undergoing top surgery, a moment of visibility that rippled through the sports world and beyond.
“This is what I’ve always seen internally,” Tilly shared in a 2025 interview. “Now, I just feel so happy and just like me.”
That same authenticity radiates from their presence online, and now, from every image shared alongside Kath.
It’s early days, and the couple doesn’t owe the public anything.
But for now, our community will be celebrating this moment. Not just because they’re cute (and they are), but because this kind of happiness matters.

Aussie Kath Ebbs has opened up about the “life lessons learnt” since their “chaotic” public split from US singer JoJo Siwa and new Instagram photos JoJo dropped this week.
Kath took to Instagram with a video compilation on Sunday with the caption, “Move on, you’re so god damn loved by those that matter”.
JoJo broke up with the Aussie influencer, who uses they/them pronouns, at the wrap party for Celebrity Big Brother in the UK, on which JoJo met British TV personality Chris Hughes.
The pair got very close on the show but afterwards the duo swore that their bond was purely platonic.
On Wednesday, both JoJo and Chris seemingly hard launched their relationship on Instagram, with new photos of them together.

‘Remember to laugh and have fun with the chaos’
On Sunday morning, Kath Ebbs shared a classy response of their own in which they shared “five lessons I’ve learnt over the past months.”
“Friendship and community really are a life force. Allow those that see you and love you to hold you,” they began.
“Do not allow your sense of self to be dictated on an app like TikTok.
“People are just looking for entertainment here. Don’t take it personally because you are just a [pawn] in their story, not an actual human being.
“Feel it all but also remember to laugh and have fun with the chaos. It’s not that deep.
“Continue to live by your values and integrity even when you feel misunderstood. “Your life will always be much fuller in the long run if you stay true to who you are and what you believe in (I hope).”
And their final lesson?
“Don’t mistake attachment for love,” Kath wrote.
“Love is a doing word rooted in care. Look to your friends as a blueprint.”
‘I had the world’s biggest meltdown’
A week before JoJo’s Instagram post, Kath Ebbs went in-depth about the split on an episode of their podcast Conversations with Kath.
Kath recalled being on good terms with JoJo before Big Brother started, but warned her not to “get handsy with a lesbian” while on the show.
But they recalled when they saw JoJo and Chris’ friendship intensifying in clips on TikTok, their “heart fell through my f**king asshole”.
“I had the world’s biggest meltdown,” they said, and said that their split at the show’s afterparty left them “stunned”.
“I was literally sitting there, so devastated that this was happening,” they recalled.
