I just remembered in my politics class today this girl (who wants to be a top lawyer) said she’s not a feminist because “boys get bored when girls keep going on about feminism.”
Wow. Men don’t like hearing that the way they treat women is unacceptable? Men don’t like hearing that they benefit from the oppression of 52% of the population? Men don’t like hearing about how a society that’s taught them from the minute they are born, they are morally, intellectually and physically superior to women, and should expect women to be subservient, is wrong?
I am literally seething. How dare she sit there and not acknowledge how much feminism has given her, then have the audacity to compare 1 in 4 women being victims of sexual abuse to men being victims of sexual abuse in prison. Seriously, fuck you. She’s going to the best university in the country (and the world) to study law and she isn’t a fucking feminist because boys want her to sit and look pretty, not challenge them. IF YOU WATCHED NEVER MIND THE BUZZCOCKS I WAS THERE.
