Iara has such a hard time asking for help sometimes. Jaci relied on her for comfort, for protection, for defense so she just is the type of person who prefers to do everything just because she's become so used to it. Like if she's in a group project, she'll just tell everyone it's fine and she'll do it and it gets an A+ because she's very smart but the thing is, she just kinda always takes up tasks by herself.
If she's stressing out over a case or something, she gets super annoyed and angry and if someone asks for help, she tells them it's fine and she'll figure it out but they're gonna have to like, force themselves to help her since it's not like Iara is gonna tell them to go away because she likes being by them. Like, Kathy sitting next to her on a chair and reading her mission report and Iara just pauses and looks at her.
Iara: "May I inquire about your prescence?"
Kathy: "I just want to help you."
Iara: "I am not in need of it."
Kathy, shrugging: "The good thing about help is that sometimes you don't have to ask for it."
And then she goes silent before she mutters: "Thank you."
And Kathy smiles before being all: "You're welcome, now, I think you might've overlooked this detail-"
