Ok so I feel like Kathy used to be friends with Allison, Rondi, Dana, Leslie, and Jenny and I feel like they had a very dramatic falling out and that sort of sparked Kathy being so bitter all the time. Eventually she came around became nice and they forgave her but it really wasn’t the same as before
Oooh!Intresting!I always assumed that Kathy was mean and grumpy since day one and the attempts to befriend her in Sideways Stories were just the other students testing the waters before eventually giving up all potential connections with her and accepting her role of "The catty one" sans DJ because...He's DJ.But I also see this interpretation as having a lot of potential!Because there is such a sharp contrest between Kathy who hated everything and everyone since day 1 VS Kathy who hates everything because she lost something or some people that were dear to her.I wonder what that falling out was and if it was the fault of Allison,Rondi,Dana,Leslie or Jenny or all five of them?If the latter I could see why Kathy became so spiteful,why be friends with people if they're just going to backstab you?.
....Though I have to say...When she was friends with Allison,Rondi,Dana,Leslie and Jenny did she like DJ or did she hate him even then?
Personally:While Kathy's behavior in the books is potrayed comedically and is funny,don't get me wrong it's also extremly concering because behaviors such like hers at that young of an age are not normal.May I need to remind you all that commiting animal abuse and/or wanting to commit animal abuse is one of the biggest signs of child abuse?
I personally think she needs ACTUAL therapy and good friends.
