I told myself that for about three years, and then I finally bought it on my Kindle. I SERIOUSLY enjoyed ‘em, the writing style is fantastic. And story. (which is different from the movies, obviously)

I tried to read them once and got to the first page of the first one and said "wow this is really dense and boring" and stopped

that was a long time ago though so I may think differently now
