I️ absolutely adore Bréne Brown. The concept of empathy is often considered to be synonymous with sympathy - but the two are very different. This great little cartoon does an excellent job of highlighting the differences.
I love the idea behind this comic. So often in life, we are fixated on being "happy" without considering what makes us feel contented, satisfied, and or complete. Our moments of happiness are precious and should be treasured, but being happy isn't the only way to be fully human. I would argue that it is necessary to feel the full spectrum of emotions.
