Sylus has that quiet intensity I’ll always love drawing.
I think I’m just weak for restrained, dangerous men with too many thoughts behind their eyes.
(Which might explain a lot about the characters in my own story too.)

Jane Brier moodboard ✨
Healing magic with no reflection in the Mirror World.
Books filled with notes in the margins.
Sun-shaped earrings - a gift from Jack, back when they were still children.
Elora - the pendant that glows when magic stirs and the Mirror World draws near.
Sweet things she insists she doesn’t love that much.
She doesn’t declare her power loudly, but she endures every trial placed in her path.
Part of Katoptrium - a story about fractures, mirrors, and choosing each other anyway.
It was just a splash, Jack. Don’t be so dramatic.
You look just as handsome as you did when you were dry.”
“I look like I’m running out of patience.
A little break from the usual dark rifts and shadowy realms…
Here’s a fun Mermay piece featuring my original characters Jane and Jack —
because even magical agents need bath time (and chaos) sometimes.
After spending the last few weeks immersed in Mermay and my Once Upon a Broken Heart project, I found myself missing these two.
I’ve been revisiting a lot of ideas about my original world lately, and I hope to explore it more deeply in the future and finally share more of Jack and Jane’s story with you.
For now, though, here’s a small sketch — sunshine incarnate Jane and her steady, quiet Jack. ✨
KATOPTRIUM — Chapter One (part 2)
KATOPTRIUM — Chapter One (part 1)
Jack Nightwood.
His story begins in the first pages of Katoptrium.
Welcome to Katoptrium.
I’m Clare - illustrator and storyteller.
Here I share my original fantasy project set in the city of Eivel.

Katoptrium is a long-term graphic novel about fractures between worlds, light magic, and two agents standing at the edge of something that should have remained sealed.
I also occasionally draw fanart.
You may see works inspired by Love and Deepspace, and I will always have a soft spot for magical worlds - so Hogwarts students are welcome here too.
This is only the beginning.
The fracture is already open.
