Hi! So someone called you an AFTG archive (or something along those lines). With all the jokes about Katelyn and Neil looking a lot alike, I’m not sure if she has a canon appearance. It would be great if you could clear that up (if that’s okay).
Hey there,
Being called the AFTG archive again is very funny. Just a quick disclaimer though that even I am capable of making mistakes haha.
So, the only canonical physical description of Katelyn that we have is from TRK and it is, “Katelyn stood tucked against Aaron’s side, a few inches taller than he was but somehow fitting perfectly against against him.”
We do not know her hair colour or length, eye colour, skin colour, if she has tattoos/piercing, etc.,. Only that she is taller than Aaron! Maybe she has long pink hair, beautiful brown eyes, and full-sleeve rose tattoos as the physical embodiment of love ^_^.
We know other random facts about Katelyn like she has a sister who is having a baby boy, her descriptions often describe her as “happy” “gleeful” “twirly” and Neil describes her as exhaustingly enthusiastic about the world. And, of course, that she’s planning on going to med-school to be a pediatrician. And, of course, that she loves Aaron (and is scared of Andrew - which, fair).
Our knowledge of Katelyn’s last name as Mackenzie is something that Nora revealed on Twitter & wasn’t in the books, either. In the EC that Nora has posted about Aaron/Katelyn we don’t get a physical description of her either, only that Katelyn flirted with Aaron first, and Katelyn/Aaron had a lot of sex in Katelyn’s dorm. Eventually, Aaron proposes 5th year of university & they get married the summer after graduation before they start at MUSC.
Nora seems to have changed her mind on Aaron/Katelyn having children over the years, she initially said they would not have children b/c they are both career-focused (but would have a pug named Popo) & then later seems to imply that Aaron/Katelyn have their own set of Minyard twins.
Katelyn & Neil physically looking alike is Fanon - and while I definitely understand the humor behind it - I am admittedly not the biggest fan of Katelyn & Neil looking alike as having basically become the Fandom norm b/c I think it’s a bit creepy in regard to implying that Aaron & Andrew have similar sexual interests b/c they are twins. Also, I’ve been tripped up by Katelyn/Aaron Fanart several times that I thought was someone just making Andrew/Neil heterosexual haha. I also think Katelyn does have enough of a Canonical personality that it’s very obvious she’s not similar to Neil personality wise (which is why Neil doesn’t really vibe with her).
So, Katelyn can ultimately look like however you wish to envision her - as long as she’s taller than Aaron!
My writing muse won't shut up about this scene. I SWEAR! >:E
Hey, it's me, Aaron. I'm sorry that I can't be at the phone at the moment, so leave me a message. -BEEP- Kat sighed, "Hey, Aaron. It's me, Kat. Call me back, okay." Clicking the red END button, she tossed the phone on her bed. The assassin looked at her laptop screen, where her desktop background was displayed pictures of her and Aaron together. "Aaron..." she lightly touched her screen. "Where are you?"
Shutting down her laptop, Kat plopped on her bed and tapped around her screen's phone. Even her background of the both of them. The brunette placed her phone next to her and turned to her side. Staring at the screen, she sighed even more. "Why aren't you answering your calls?" she said, as she slowly fell asleep on her bed.
It's done! And I have more in mind XD You can tell I sort of got lazy with the ending but I'll let your imagination soar ;) Leave me comments c:
Carefully slipping through the large crowd of paparazzi into the shadows, Kat didn’t like being photographed unless it was Aaron; it was a totally different issue. “Melissa,” she called through her Bluetooth. “Yes, Miss Murdock.” A female voiced answered. “Keep them going, I’m going to slip out the through another exit. My mother is already waiting for me.” “Yes, ma’am, your luggage will be waiting at the place you assigned it to be,” the woman replied. “Thank you, Melissa.” Blending in with a new crowd, the brunette exited through the sliding doors with her bag and luggage while the others were to arrive at her apartment soon.
She managed to walk down alone near an empty parking where there just a few cars. A small glint caught her eye; Kat caught it before the blade touched her by a few centimeters. With a smirk on her face, she turned to the woman that was several meters away from her. “Mom seriously is that how you greet your daughter every time,” she laughed, “Especially when she just back in the States.” Elektra chuckled, “You know how I love to keep you up and alerted.” The woman walked over and took the dagger from her daughter, slipping it back in her side pouch. “Welcome home, sweetheart,” she hugged Kat.
“It’s finally good to be back,” the young assassin hugged her mother back. “Everything’s been taken care of. Grandpapa’s fortune is safe.” The older assassin patted her head, “That’s good. Grandpapa would love to know that it is safe now. Come on, let’s get you home.” Elektra released Kat from her hold and helped drag her luggage to the car. “Dad knows that you’re coming back to today. How about him?” she asked the young brunette.
Kat shook her head, “No, I want to keep it a surprise. It’s been six months since I left; I did some persuasion to help make things go faster than they should. Also I didn’t want to stay away too long, Natasha still has to train me you know.” The other woman grumbled a bit, “Does she really have train you, Kat?” “Mom, seriously, you’ve trained me along with Sensei. I think I need a new teacher,” she placed her hand on her mother’s.
Elektra pulled out of the parking lot and drove to the freeway. “Fine, but never again will this happen. Do you understand me?” “Mom, please,” Kat stated as her mother as they drove off the freeway. “Oh, did you bring me what I asked?” “In the back,” the older assassin pointed. The young brunette pulled the lever that lowered her car seat and pulled out a brown bag. “Don’t mind if I change in the car?” she asked. “Go right ahead.”
Kicking off her shoes and struggling to take off her clothes, Kat tossed on her jumpsuit the one she always wore for her missions. “Are you really going to track—” “Mom, he’s my fiancée. Can’t I have some fun with him since I’m back?” she chuckled to herself as she zipped it up. “He’s good to you, you know that right?” The young woman looked down, “Yeah, I know. I’m sure he knows that as well.” She touched her necklace around her neck. Instead of having one, there were two now, the one with her name and other was holding her engagement ring.
Elektra parked several blocks away from Kat’s apartment. “Mom, do you mind putting my stuff in my place?” she asked as she hopped out of the car. “I will, sweetheart. Have fun,” Elektra smiled at her daughter as she disappeared up the side of the building.
Leaping from building to building, her blue eyes scanned for Aaron. Last time she heard from him was a few days, saying that he moved into her place. Kat chuckled a bit; it was different to her now that she was engaged. Since she can’t track him down because of his mind shield, she had to do it the old fashion way.
Aaron slipped out the door of her apartment, tightly huddling to himself since it was the beginning of winter. Kat watched from above and decided to play a little game. Climbing down the stairs, she quietly followed him. Once she caught up to him, she lightly tapped his shoulder while leaving a sticky note behind and walked off in the other direction. The telepath turned around but saw no one there. He touched his shoulder and felt the note. He took it off his back and read it.
Keep moving. I’m a friend, so you can trust me on this.
He stared at the note. The lettering was typed up so he couldn’t figure out who wrote but a specific scent catch his attention. Kat watched from above with a smile on her face. She sprayed the note she had with a body spray she wore almost every day. Aaron continued walking as he pulled out his phone and dialed a specific number. Kat’s phone vibrated, rolling her eyes, the brunette pulled it out and answered it through her Bluetooth. “You missed me?” she answered. “You know I miss you more than anything,” the voice answered back, “Where are you hiding, Kitty Kat?”
“Aaron, what did I say about giving me nicknames?” Kat slowly hopped back down to the ground. “When did you get back?” “Today, my mom picked me up.” “So why are you hiding from me, Kat eyes?” The assassin slowly followed Aaron as he continued his walk. She was just a few meters behind him. “Am I not allowed too?” “Come on, how long has it been? My question is, is how long are you staying?” The brunette lost sight of Aaron, she quietly in her head as she heard a click from the receiver. “Aaron?” she answered, while pressing the Bluetooth closer to her ear so that she can hear better.
“Right behind you,” a voice spoke from the back of her. She turned around and looked at her fiancée. “Now it was my turn to find you,” he chuckled. “It’s good to see you back, Kat.” The assassin smiled at him with tears in her eyes. “It’s good to see you too, Aaron,” she said, walking up to him. The telepath pulled her into his arms and tightly hugged her. Aaron kissed the top of her head as Kat quietly sobbed in his chest.
The walk back to Kat’s apartment was quiet. “Are you here for a visit or…?” Aaron broke the silence between them. The girl replied, “It’s a secret but you’ll find out soon enough.” She laughed as she walked up to the door steps. Kat inserted the key in the key hole and opened the door. Her luggage was in a neat pile along with her clothes that she asked her mom to place there. “So to answer your question,” she said, “I’m staying forever.” Kat turned to Aaron with a smile.
“I persuaded them to make the process go fast,” she said, while slipping off her gloves. Kat reached behind her neck and took off the necklace that had the ring on it. Slipping the ring off the lance and back to her ring finger, she smiled at Aaron. “So I’m home.” The telepath walked up to her and kissed her. “Welcome home, Kat,” he said, before kissing her again. The girl wrapped her arms around him, “It’s good to be back.” Kat kissed him once more as she smiled.
Aaron lightly twirled Kat’s hair as she slowly woke up from the nap. She stirred a bit. “Had a good nap?” he asked her. The assassin looked up at him. “Yeah,” she smiled. “It’s really good to be back home.” Kat sighed a bit as she got up. “So how did you manage to persuade them?” “An assassin never spills her secrets,” she smiled and winked at him as she slowly got out of the bed. Aaron reached over and pulled Kat back on to the mattress. The girl yipped as she fell backwards. “Aaron!” she laughed. “Not until you tell me,” he chuckled as he held on to her.
“Is that really how you are going to treat your fiancée?” she pouted at him. “You may be my fiancée, but I still need to know, Kat,” he looked at her. “I told them to speed up the process because I had some business to take care of back here.” “Like?” he asked as he raised his eyebrows at her. “When I arrived to Greece, they told me that the process would take about a year to finish, so I called up Agent Romanoff to help short the time by half by taking whatever files they needed and sending them over to me. My grandfather’s fortune is now safe under my hands now and it’s going to stay that way,” she answered him.
Releasing Kat from his hold, Aaron said, “So that means…” “Did I not tell you early that I’m staying forever,” the assassin turned to look at him. “Yeah, I get that, but…” The girl reached down and kissed the telepath. “And that’s all you need to know,” she spoke. Kat stared at him before taking his lip into hers once more. Aaron held on to her as he returned the kiss. “It’s really good to see you back,” he smiled after releasing the kiss.
“I know,” she returned the smile before capturing his lips again.
It's done. Finally it's done! There are quite a certain amount of mistakes, but ignore them. ^^ I also got writer's block while typing this so it'll show through, but overall I'm happy with the results and I hope you guys in enjoy it. c: Leave me comments as well. :D
With a small smile on her face, Kat muttered the word, thank you for everything, before turning her head back to the stage. Soon the head of the school board members called the class of graduates as bright people of the future. The brunette grabbed her cap and tossed it up. Four years and it’s officially over. All her troubles are now over but one. Once her cap fell back down, she clearly filed out along with her fellow graduates outside to greet her family and friends.
Looking around, the assassin continuously jumped up and down to look for parents. “Hey, there’s no need to jump,” a man chuckled behind her while hugging her from behind. “It’s not my fault, I couldn’t see from a certain height,” she stated twisting her body forward. “Congratulations, Kat. You’ve finish school and now you can finish your training with Agent Romanoff.” She sighed a bit, “About that…” “Kat,” her mother interrupted her. “Congratulations, dear. You’ve done it.” Elektra hugged her daughter. “Congrats, Kat,” her Dad said. “Thanks, Mom. Dad,” she smiled at them.
“Are you ready?” her Mom asked. “Yeah, I promise I won’t stay out to late,” the girl smiled, gripping on to her significant other’s hand. “Come on,” Kat said, dragging Aaron out of the crowd. “Where are we going?” he asked. “Back to my apartment, I need to put the robe away.”
The walk back to the girl’s apartment was quiet. “When are you going back to train with Natasha?” Aaron looked at his girlfriend. “Soon, she hasn’t called me about it,” she replied, while opening the door to her apartment. The girl zipped off her gown and packed it up on the hanger that was left on the closet door. “Kat, is something bothering you? You looked a bit distracted.” Feeling a guilty on hiding the truth, the woman sighed, “All these years of the cat and mouse game, it’s finally the first time where I get some peace.” He walked over and hugged her again while kissing her head. “I know I’m glad now that it is over.”
She turned around and sighed against his chest. “I know. Now that Fisk is forever in prison, now I can give my family some peace about it.” Releasing her grip from his hold, Kat took the gown and walked upstairs to her room with Aaron following after and hung it up with the rest of her outfits. The girl felt like dying inside since in the next several hours she would be on a plane leaving for Greece to take care of business over there.
“You know for odd time’s sake…” Aaron chuckled, before tickling her. Kat jumped up with a squeal. “Aaron!” she laughed out loud. “What did I say about tickling me?” she glared at him. “You said you won’t bring out the death threats.” The assassin placed her hands on her hips. “Alright, fine.” He walked over to her bed and sat down on it. “At least I got to see your smile today,” he chuckled. “You see me smile every day, Aaron.” She walked over to him. “But not like this,” he grabbed her arm and pulled Kat closer to him.
Their faces mere inches away from each other. “You seem quite happier,” he noted. “I guess you can say that.” He carefully brushed her hair way before kissing her. The girl was quite surprised with the kiss, before deepening it. Releasing the lip lock, Kat looked at him. “What was that for?” “Special gift. Although I forgot your graduation gift somewhere, I’m sure you don’t mind me giving it to you later,” he chuckled. “Aaron,” she gasped, “How could you?”
“I’ll give it to you, I promise.” Pouting a bit, Kat sighed, “Fine, but no later than tonight.” “What? Kat, where’s the fairness in that?” She lightly pecked Aaron’s lips. “That’s what you get,” she smiled, before kissing him back. Keeping Kat closer to him, Aaron deepened the kiss with more intensity and love. The assassin pulled back looking at his blue-grey irises before returning another kiss. Reaching behind her, he held on to Kat.
This was probably the last time the assassin will get to see him since tonight was her last day. She quietly held back her tears. “Kat, what’s wrong?” Aaron looked up at her. “It’s nothing,” she stated, wiping her tears away. “Are you sure?” He cupped her face in his hand. “Yeah, it just feels different,” she smiled at him. “I know,” he smiled back, “How long ago has it been really?”
She sighed, and sat next to him. “I suppose three years now. Or more, I can’t really say.” Lightly tucking Kat’s hair behind her ear, “Now that he’s gone, I guess I can relax as well. The formula for the serum is now in SHIELD’s hands, what are they going to do with it?” The brunette shrugged for a moment. “I don’t know, probably keep it safe,” Kat said looking at Aaron. “SHIELD can do whatever they want with since it’s no longer my problem.”
“I know,” he pulled her in a hug. “You’ve finally done it.” “Yeah, I know,” she sighed in his chest. Aaron tilted Kat’s chin and kissed her. Once again, Kat was surprised with this kiss, but surprises came naturally to her. Slowly Aaron deepened the kiss as she pulled him down with her on the bed.
Quietly slipping out and under the covers, Kat got dressed. She walked over to her desk and pulled out a note pad and wrote in it. Taking another pair of her house keys out, she taped it to the paper and left the note next to Aaron. The brunette sighed before walking downstairs to other closet and pulled out suitcase. She opened the front door and looked behind her. “Thank you for everything,” she said, with tears forming in her eyes as she closed the door.
The telepath bolted right up minutes after Kat left the note. He slowly got up as he leaned against the bed post. “Kat…” Aaron turned around to see if the assassin was still beside him instead he found a note in her writing. The telepath picked it up and read it.
Aaron, by the time you read this I’ll probably be on a plane to Greece. I’m sorry that this had happened to soon. My parents and I planned that I leave on the day I graduate Columbia for months now and I’m sorry I kept it from you. Please forgive me, I didn’t mean to hurt anyone, especially you, Aaron. I just want to say Thank You for everything that has happened. You’ve shown me things that I’ve never thought about see. Thank you for loving me and I’ll always remember that. And I will always love you. Kat. P.S. Here’s a pair of my house keys, just in case you want to always welcome me home if you want, but I would doubt that I would come back home.
Aaron looked at the keys and clutched it in hands before pulling off the covers and got dress. “What is that girl up to know?” he growled angrily. After checking that he had everything including a little small black box in his pocket, he grabbed his bike helmet and raced out the door to catch Kat before she flew off to Greece.
“Everything you need is packed right?” her mom asked. “Yep, I might still have stuff back in the apartment so I’m pretty sure it will be taken care of,” Kat replied to her mother. “Well good luck, Kat. Are you sure you don’t want to say good-bye?” The assassin pressed her lips together, “Yeah, I’m sure it’s better this way, Mom.” “We’ll try to visit you in Greece, Kat,” Matt said. “In case, you have any troubles or anything.” The girl looked at her Dad. “Thanks, Dad, but I’ll take it from here.” “Alright then, have fun and good luck.” She smiled and hugged both of her parents as she wiped her tears away.
“Kat!” The brunette picked up a familiar voice. Staring pass her mother, she saw a panting Aaron. “Aaron…” Kat looked at him as she clutched her fist. “What are you doing here?” she asked him as she walked up to the man. “I got your note. Why didn’t you tell me?” “I did, a few years ago. I know I can’t get rid of you easily but you knew the consequences remember.” She lightly touched his check. “Now, out of all times, Kat, please stay. Here,” Aaron looked at her.
The girl shook her head, “Aaron, I can’t. You know I feel about this. It’s the only way I take over.” The young man dug into his pockets and pulled out the little box. “Even though I don’t know how long you’ll be away but please accept this.” Aaron opened the small box to reveal a diamond ring. “I asked your parents’ permission and I wanted to give this to you, it was your graduation gift.” Kat covered her mouth as tears formed on her eyes.
“So will you marry me, Kat?” he looked at her glistening eyes. Kat looked at him with a smile and nod, “Yes.” The telepath smiled as he kissed her. The brunette returned the kiss back while wrapping her arms around him. “Kat, it’s time to go,” her mom said. Releasing their kiss, Kat slipped on the ring. “I promise I’ll be back, Aaron. I love you.” She kissed him once more before heading over to the terminal. “I know that you will and I love you, too,” he replied back, knowing that her hearing was able to pick it up. Aaron watched as Kat moved out to the plane knowing that this wasn’t the last time he’ll see her again.
Sitting in the first class section, Kat looked down at the ring and pulled out her phone. “Yeah, it’s me. Please don’t make it take so long. I have some important business to do back in the States.”
